LOL :ROFLMAO:

under intense pressure 10 games into his first season, with half of our 1st team out injuried for lengthy periods while we sit 5th in the table?? This is the kinda crap the Sun comes out with. 'AVB has 1 more game to save his job'

fans really aren't helping the situration. Lloris must've been sitting on the bench thinking what the fuck is this, stadium as quiet as a library. only time the make noise is to boo the team at half time and full time, and to boo the manager when he takes of a striker who did nothing for an hour

Being Tottenham manager you are going to be under pressure to get results especially at home. And so far we are being served up complete dross. I'm not in anyway saying he's not the man for the job and that we should keep the faith with AVB. Using injuries as an excuse is lame. We should not be losing at home to Wigan.

Kaboul, one of the best central defenders in the Premier League
BAE, one of the best left backs in the Premier League
Dembélé, our best central midfielder by far
Adebayor, our top scorer last season
..

Modric, world class playmaker, sold
VDV, world class playmaker, sold

These are all players that played a big part in our campaign last year who have been unavailable for selection lately.

I agree that we should not in any case be losing to the likes of Wigan at home, but at the moment I feel the injury excuse is a pretty valid one. We are lacking key players all over the pitch. I know Adebayor played today, but he's not had a pre season (unprofessional both of him and the club) and he's been injured/ill.

Apart from that we managed to sell our two world class players during this transfer window and replaced them with players that undoubtedly (apart from Dempsey) have potential and quality but aren't anywhere close to the two players they replaced in current ability. I think AVB is doing a good job with the players he has, but why he insists on starting Friedel over Lloris is pretty hard for me to understand.

Eh? I don't get it, we are 5th in the table on the same points as Everton and above Arsenal, we also beat Utd for the first time in ages and this is only the second game we've lost in the prem. Did AVB have an affair with your wife or something? It's not like the season has finished now.

Actually we've lost three.

Without being a pedantic smartass how would one explain and distinguish thousands of colours shades to someone who doesn't see any colours?

He is 35 and started working with Bobby Robson at Porto at 17. Ok 18 years then. My point stands.

The same way colors are "explained" to and "distinguished" by computers which technically speaking are blind too - by using the RGB values of the colors. Each color has its own name, if it is one of the more commonly used, or a code, so each name/code comes with a unique set of RGB values.

I don't care how many years he has spent following others around. All I cared was that he knew what his players were capable off and used them to the best of their abilities, knew when and how to make substitution - compare his substitutions against Wigan, when we were 1 down, with those of Hughton against us after we scored. The more I watch us the more I come to think that he is a smart but blind fella and there is no way he is going to teach these players how to paint as good as Michelangelo. We still dont have a good penalty taker. WTF. Is it that hard to pick someone and have them practice penalties for 15 mins every day? It would benefits our keepers too.

there's no point in bitching about AVB. We sold our two best players and replaced them with Dempsey and Siggy. We simply are not that good anymore. Get used to this.

If you think about it...

Essentially this squad lost VdV/Modric/Kaboul/Parker and for the most part Ade. That's a big blow for any squad.

Fortunately, we should be getting 3 of those guys back eventually with Ade looking to be back right now.

How many bad performances this season. Seriously.

Mind made up, we've made a clanger so need to out him before it's too late.

Avb out, Moyes in.

Absolute joke of a season.
lets be honest here, how many years has moyes been at everton? he got them to the champions league qualifiers once, harry done it for us after a season and half, avb has been with this team what 5-6 months give the man time, alex ferguson got a chance in his first year at united (they finished like 10th i think) so let avb bring his own style to this club it might take a year are so but im willing to wait, i think we have a manager who knows what he's doing give him time and you will see, he has alot to prove but i believe he will prove all the doubters wrong! also first manager to get us a win at united in a long time he surely couldnt be that bad ?

Levy is the one who should be taking any flack, he has completely hamstrung a talented young coach who he must have know had a Redknapp shaped target on his back from the get-go. Every transfer window we think Levy has changed from his bean-counting ways, but time and again he proves the old addage that a leopard can not change his spots putting brinksmanship ahead of what is best in footballing terms. The ludicrous situation of the sale of VdV aside, yes we got Ade at a great price but look where it left us? Relying on an ignoramus with none of the required qualities to be our focal point while Ade was off on an extended holiday

Admittedly AVB is compounding the situation by leaving Lloris on the bench and persisting with Vertonghen at LB among other frustrating selection decisions but under the circumstances I think he has done as well as can be expected

We have gone backwards in almost every position, whilst simultaneously losing our squad depth and creative hub. Factor in strong players from last year nosediving in form (Walker) or out injured (Younes, BAE, Parker, Ade) and its little wonder we are struggling at times

Let's get something straight - that was fecking dire and I am massively disappointed, but...

...shut the feck up! I tend to be cautious about dishing negs out, but I have given that a <DUMB> because it is, well, it is fecking DUMB!

The truth is, Graysonti, you had your mind made up as soon as we signed AVB. And where we are right now, for you to call for the coach's head is FIFTH in the table during a transition period with a lengthy injury list.

Can't you just be disappointed like everyone else, without being a knee-jerking sad-sack, to boot

why "feck" and not "fuck"?

This is most likely the way the table will stay too. We will be fighting in the 4-6 with Everton and Arsenal, while Utd run away with Chelsea and City chasing them. I don't understand how people are upset with this. We don't have the quality to be top 3. We are doing great with the cards that have been dealt to our team so far.

Sacking AVB this early would nearly be as bad as sacking a manager who brought us three consecutive top five finishes and CL football after years of mediocrity. No way would Levy be so stupid.

Harry didn't have the vision to take the club forward. Supporters wanted us to move forward and progress, become a top flight force like in the 60s. AVB is here now, and he is definitely capable of moving us forward, we just need to learn to be patient with the choice.

Is AVB just being stubborn? If he plays Lloris and Ade then all the boos would be for the players and he would have sympathy from all for bad luck with injuries.

AVB might be really good at understanding statistics as some people think but I don't think he understands football at all, and he shouldn't be for the man has barely played any football in his entire life due to his medical condition. It is like expecting a blind guy to become the new Michelangelo, because he knows the name of each one of the millions of colors out there, knows how they differ in their RGB values, knows how to mix this one and that one to get the exact color you need because he read about it somewhere, etc. etc. statistics.

But it seems he doesn't understand that well the statistics and what his players are capable of either.

And yet he has managed professional teams in two countries, won more trophies than most of the managers in the EPL, the majority of which have played and managed for years and is held in high regard by the majority of those same managers.

And you haven't.

Bearing all that in mind, what exactly qualifies you to be able to level that kind of analogy?

It's like an illiterate offering critique on the latest best selling novel because the words were too big and it didn't have any pictures.

The fact that he thInks Defoe can play upfront on his own is extremely worrying. Especially with Ade on the bench.

Agreed.

However he is making glaring errors even us armchair fans can see.

That is whats starting to worry me.

Similar mistakes as Jol's last days, get a lead and retreat to edge of our own area only to concede a late goal
