Comolli is role is far from easy. He's got to get the players to makes us a force in the Champions league, but the players who will get us in the CL are already there with thier respected clubs. He has to wheel and deal with second tier teams and hope and gamble that his signings pay off. He has got us a couple of gems in the form of Berbatov and Bale, but on the other hand we still need some convincing regrading Assou Ekotto, Kaboul, Zokora and Boetang.

Once we establish ourselves as a consistant CL team and abolish our current wage structure, extend capacity, then we have the infrastructure to build and compete with the best for the best.

No no no, he did well and Chelsea were too quick to sack him, but I can't see him bettering Comolli in the D.O.F role!

Oh absolutely no way would we go for him...just righting a few wrongs about his supposed poor performance. They play marginally more attractive and unarguably more successful football under Grant, if he had any kind of media persona, positive or negative, he would still be in a job right now.
LOL.

Grant is a fraud, a limited coach who's climbed the greasy pole by licking arse rather than for any football nouse. He's Russian speaking and well connected and it's not the first time he's had a successful manager ousted by courting his boss.

He won nothing this year, compare that with Mourinho's record year after year. He's lost twice as many finals as he's won. In Israel he was renowned for negative, brutal football and he'd never managed at any level other than top grade Israeli football.

He inherited the team Jose built and it's they (along with Steve Clark and the other coaches who remained when Mourinho left) who hauled themselves up despite Grant, not because of him. The players famously held a meeting where they decided upon just such a course, meanwhile Grant contented himself by constructing 'inspiring' compilation videos of Brave Heart and the like.

The guy's a joke and richly deserved the sack, my only sadness is that the Chelsea hierarchy realised this as I'd have loved him to remain another season and have really done some damage.

I don't see why people think Grant has done a bad job at Chelsea and labelling him a joke is over the top. I actually quite like the guy, I don't think he is that boring, his one word answer interview was a classic. However I don't really see any evidence he could do the D.O.F job. It is a completely different role to being a head coach and I don't understand the link in this case.

DC has done a good job, and we have won another youth cup. Why does anyone think he has done a bad job? He has VERY little to do with first team affairs. I was reading an article a few months back (is one of the financial papers) where he explained his role. People seem to misunderstand what he does, and make total cocks of themselves by saying he has done a poor job.

Avram Grant at Spurs?? you 'avin a laarf!!??? I'm not totally sure the guy actually has a clue about football whatsoever!!.. Apparently he does no/ ltd team talks, when things go wrong on the pitch, he does not say a word, he has no clue what to do, he's just been lucky that his boss has already had a good coach in ahead of him, and that they have spent money on some of the Worlds finest footballers.. Seriously, the guy has sucked a lot of balls to get where he is, and he's stabbed a lot of backs along the way too.. If you were to put him in charge of a team with lesser stars than Chelsea, do you think he'd do well?? No, he wouldn't, i'd rather have Dowie near our players than Grant, and thats saying summat!!!!!
