I just received a text from my mate who is doing a course at the FA. Apparently the guy who is training him said that Baldini has been given his marching orders. The FA need to know beforehand for some reason. Thought i would share.....

If he does get the chop he can hardly complain.

Whilst he won't have been solely responsible for transfers, he does have to take ultimate responsibility, and from the Bale windfall we completely messed up, and following that we also proceeded to buy the likes of Stambouli and Fazio who were clearly bad options as well as the manager didn't rate them.

I don't think we'll massively miss him if he goes.

Irrelevant. Levy has never and will never relinquish control of our transfer dealings to anyone else.

I think he will never relinquish having the final say/signing cheque/oking payment or whatever you call it.
But he would love someone to be able to identify viable targets in our price bracket. I believe this what he has hoped he's has done with new 'Paul Mitchell' scouting setup.

Levy controls everything but he is not a football scout and thus all he looks at the budgetary side. Levy I think would be the first to say he knows little about identify football talent. Same could now be said sadly about Baldini.

Only for sale if we get £30m for him. He was our best negotiator during 2013-14, even though he had his hit and misses. He has potential to be world class.

The thing about Baldini is that he is good at closing deals for players. he was brought in to do the negotiation and stuff for players since AvB didn't want to get involve and focus on the team, and we only had Levy, who also had quite a few things on his plate.

The thing i enjoy when Baldini was around is that deal was done early... and deadline day was..... Dead...

Different from Harry, who wanted to be involve in the deals and also likes last minute signings.

Frankly... i really thot we brought in good players, that just didn't fit into our system.

It's quite the opposite which is why he keeps persevering with the DoF.

Any chairman of a large company does not want to be dealing with the day to day hiring of 'production' personnel which is why he employs someone to do it for him. Levy would not directly hire a HR, catering, or groundskeeping member of staff and it is no different with the players.
Levy deals with the budgets which are handed to the DoF who then decides with the coach/manager how they will spend that budget.

He, arguably, deserves some stick for employing the 'wrong' DoF's, or perhaps not increasing the wage/transfer budget but this myth of controlling who we bring in is wrong.

Surely that's part of the problem if we're signing shite :D

Wasn't it AVB who asked for Baldini to be appointed?

Paulinho - Well respected box to box midfielder. This was a good buy.
TM, I won't hold it against you because you're an.. eccentric fellow at the best of times, but that sentence is the most ridiculous thing you've ever posted on this site. Including your posts in the Soldado and Apple threads.

I haven't found any statement from Levy about Baldini leaving the club. I suspect he just wanted things quietly done so that the spotlight doesn't fall on him.
