Gareth Bale is 21 years old. He is going to have off-days and when teams double up on you it can be hard to find space particularly when you play on the flank.

And anyway our last 5 games have been: Newcastle, Man Utd, Everton, Fulham, Newcastle.

Lets have a look at Bale's so called below standard form shall we:

Newcastle: Limped off after 5 minutes so cannot judge.
Man Utd: a game where the defences were on top. Which attacker actually shone?
Everton: we got outplayed for large parts of the game so service was limited.
Fulham: scored the winner.
Newcastle: scored a magnificent solo effort and was man of the match.

Poor form, my arse!

I think the Everton game in particular Bale faced a couple of absolutely horrendous tackles. One could have ended his career (can't remember who their player was, but it was terrible).

Agree with Chimbo though.

good point well made although i'd add Bale wrecked Rafel many times just didn't deliever his best crosses but beat him on the outside alot. More times that the average for a winger in 90mins. don't know what else to expect from a winger interms of creating the room.

more to the point. If bale steps out on the pitch and the opposition are putting 2 men on him (sometimes also a sweeping CB) he's already made a valuable contribution to the team. Its then about how we use our spare man. Agasint Everton we didn't do that very well. In some games we've not done that well enough.

He hasn't been electric, he's had a lot of pres coverage and so people expect him to be outrageously good every game. Truth is opposition teams are playing him tight and squeezing the space everywhere else. The problem is that both he and VDV have been below their absolute best and we aren't getting goals from anywhere else.

Is it just me or is slightly worrying that players are playing with injuries and then aggravating them and as a result missing games. We had it with VdV, Jenas and now Bale

Been told there unsure if it's a strain or something more serious

My mate also said gareths had a few other knocks since the everton game but he just wants to play Phil Neville kneed him the back this is what caused the original injury! He's also said about people cynically hacking him and putting a lot of force into kicking him. After games he's black and blue everywhere if he was running at full speed and he gets one of these hacks I think it could he the end of gb!

Soon as I find out the extent of the injury il let you know.

Gareths also really loving the support he gets off you lot I've told my mate to pass the fans thoughts on and he goes a bit embareserd when he's told what the fans think of him!

i think the management need to get the ear of one of their journo friends and attack the game/referees for the treatment of Bale. Wenger does it, we should too. We need to protect the boy and let people know we're doing it. I think some of the treatment he's had has been disgusting...

Glad you clarified your point, obviously wanting him to get injured so that he can avoid picking up an injury is an entirely logical view.

Mike stop being a *****, you did read the part which read " picking up an injury will give him a break which he clearly needs" you and your other mugs can put out as many of these  as you wish. you are english right ??? then learn to read and take the entire context of a paragraph and not just the part that suits your belief.

I was thinking exactly thfcsteff's sentiments yesterday. Harry's too busy being politically correct nowadays to get the England job instead of getting off his fat arse and ctiricizing the thugs that hammer not only Bale, but all our players.

How many times did Nolan thunder into VdV on Saturday? I lost count. Fucking wankers.

You wouldn't see Wenger not going mad, or Fergie. Imagine Fergie on the touchline. They're too thick and naive at times. If Harry doesn't see the benefits of slaughtering officials after matches then I'm worried. At least get Jordan to do it, who's scary as fuck.
