Missed the start of the game and they were already saying he was injured when I joined it.

How did it happen ?

He seemed to be holding his lower back and side like he was the other week when he was injured, has he got an ongoing problem there do you think ?

yep pretty much what you have said. he was holding his back. after about 8 minutes. i hope he is injured because he cannot play every game. he needs a break really. a 3-4 week injury lay off will do him the world of good. he will come back fresh and rearing to go. Bale has been so ordinary of late it is not funny. i put that down to fatigue and this rush of injuries are a symptom of that.

fucking hell the kid is a baby (in years) - of course he can play every game. Rest? rest my fucking ass. He is a professional athlete who trains specifically for his sport.

Rest.. ffs...

I wouldn't be surprised if Barton gave him a dig in the back off the ball. 10 days should be enough rest until the next Prem game.

Harry Redknapp admitted he does not know how long Gareth Bale will be absent after suffering a back injury in Tottenham's 1-1 draw with Newcastle United.
The Welsh winger moved to left back - his original position - to make way for the debut of new signing Steven Pienaar.
However Bale was substituted early on after suffering a back injury and Redknapp accepts it was a big blow to the team.
“He’s got a back injury that’s been dragging on, I was looking forward to him playing today at left back," he said.
“I thought, because the way they play, they narrow up and they don’t play a wide right player because Joey Barton plays way in, I thought Gareth would have run them ragged down the left side today but he got an injury very early in the game and that was that for him.
“We lost a big threat then, [Sebastien] Bassong had to play left back and he’s a centre half and he did a job for us, but he’s not an attacking player like Gareth.
“You don’t know with back injuries do you, it’s a shame - we need him playing for sure.
“There wouldn’t be a better left sided player than Gareth Bale that’s for sure.”

Bale has been a bit off since the Milan games. Haven't seen him run at full speed since, and often he doesn't run off the ball when the opportunity arises.

Cold harsh North. Probably not quite stretched before he stretched. Aggravated previous problem....a couple of weeks of r&r will be good for him

yes i would like nothing more than to hear he is injured. reasoning that will give him a break, which he clearly needs. if harry does not want to give him the odd break then he will pick up injuries.

when last did you watch us play???? what has bale done of late which has had us all hailing his abilities. i accept he will have the odd off day but he has been average at times and should be rested. we have all seen bale play out of his skin when fresh.

Glad you clarified your point, obviously wanting him to get injured so that he can avoid picking up an injury is an entirely logical view.

Agree with you - down to a lot more attention paid to him in games by the opposition, but nevertheless, he has not been his normal self in terms of athleticism.
