As much as we're all hoping Bale's injury isn't that bad I really hope we don't rush him back regardless. He should be fully fit before returning the rest will just have to get on with it.

superb, he and lennon may just make the bench for city then.

Hopefully they both will be fit and fresh for our final 5 games which all look winnable

INJURY UPDATE

Posted 05 April 2013 4:57pm
The Club can confirm that Gareth Bale (sprained ankle ligaments), William Gallas (calf strain) and Aaron Lennon (soft tissue contusion below the knee) all underwent scans today (Friday) after being forced off with injuries during our Europa League Quarter Final First Leg draw with Basel last night.
The results of these scans have indicated that all three players are expected to return to training within two weeks.

Bale, Gallas and Lennon have all commenced their treatment today and are responding positively.

It's good news when you consider Bale seems to have Wolverine type healing powers, I dont think we can really put a timescale on recovery, but looks like he could feature again this season, which is positive.

I'm also slightly skeptical that they are all going to be back so soon, more so Bale.

Also if this is the case we shouldn't rush him, rather him miss City and be fully ready for rest of season than to come on and give it 50% and aggravate it further.

Still hope for a CL spot if they are fit for City. We've got to try and grind out a win on Sunday although it will be extremely difficult. Chelsea away is tough now, really tough but we have to try our best and hope we can nick a point. With a fully fit squad i'd have fancied us there, shame.

This is what I like about football...

A week ago we were all bemoaning the Chelsea game being moved as we believed to play them after their away trip to Kazan would be the best time... Hindsight ay?

Now in theory if we were playing them next Sunday we would have to send a strong team to Basel, whereas they take a much more comfortable lead to Russia... Also we would be without Bale and Lennon.
