Quotes from Sam Warburton Bale's old pal now a professional egg chaser.

"He was so talented that it does not surprise me he is doing so well, even if it is ridiculous seeing him play for Tottenham. I am a big Spurs fan and playing for them was one of my childhood dreams. Gareth followed Arsenal, so there is a bit of banter about that."

No he supported Cardiff City. His uncle, a guy called Chris Pike, was an ex-City player (before Bale's time) and he particularly ensured he went and watched his home town club.

Apart from the fact that it isn't true, youthful affiliations don't matter in the slightest to professionals. Harry supported the Gooners, so did Defoe, so did Bent. So, if truth be known, did many others, I suspect.

Tim Sherwood is as well

But as SS57 said, it doesn't make a difference who they support.

When he signed for us it was widely publicised that he was a Arsenal fan, true or not, doesn't matter

Gareth bale supports Cardiff fact although he did like utd coz of giggsy I know this Sam warburton is also his best mate and it is true he supports spurs but Sam has also always been mega keen on rugby I've met both of them numerous occasions Sam only 2 weeks ago when he was on about Gareths running. Also about how he goes to see him regularly and how Gareth goes to watch rugby and also how he had potential to be the worlds vest rugby player too but he didn't like the physical aspect!

‘Tottenham have shown against Inter they can compete on the biggest stage with the best teams so why would anyone want to leave?’ he said. ‘There is a terrific group of players at White Hart Lane. The feeling within the squad is amazing.’

This is starting to become a refrain. Huddlestone, Bale, Modric, Gomes, Jenas - all have mentioned the good feeling, the sense of camaraderie in the squad within the past few weeks. It's difficult to do and has a real value that can be measured in results.

Whatever one may think of Redknapp's chronic mendacity and spin with the press, even if you think his tactical skills are weak (I don't), it's past doubt that he has a gift for welding a team together and making individual players feel good about themselves.

Its not to be underestimated one little bit, he's building something wonderful and you sense that others (fans/media/pundits/managers) are now starting to really twig on.

Ok we still have a lot of work to do in terms of consolidating a top four finish but Harry has an incredibile knack in getting the best out of players. Perhaps even more importantly he has managed to forge a real team spirit - and it looks like its going to be difficult to break that, given the way the players have talked to the press.

Very exciting times - and Man United can frankly do one if they think there going to disrupt this party. The big boys in the League know we are a real threat now - thats the bottam line.

make a few quid selling a story?

He's a professional rugby player who's just been called into the Welsh squad for the first time, that's why he's giving interviews.

And besides the bloke admits that he himself is a Spurs fan so what gratification would he get saying that Bale was an Arsenal fan?

Not that I really give a shit, having just read 'Arry's column in The Sun he seems completely convinced that Bale will be here next season - with or without Champions League football.

before signing him, Wenger claimed that he heard he is Spurs fan but it may be only romours ..

i think he is a bit similar to Keane, who loves Wolves, Coventry, Inter, Tottenham Celtic & Liverpool lol.
