45 million is massively inflated for Bale, it really is. Nowhere near consistent enough to be mentioned in the world class bracket, and doesn't work hard enough for the team when things arn't going are way either.

That being said, he's capable of absolute brillance at times - and some of the stuff he's done/can do is jaw dropping.

Long way to go in terms of consistency before I'll be losing any sleep over it though.

For the most part I agree with this, having said that there's probably only 4 or 5 other players in world who can decimate an opponent in the manor which he is capable of... Although those days are seeming a long time ago and he is criminally inconsistent even when on form.

What I will lose sleep over is we've not signed anyone to replace him... Bed them in now so when he does go we don't have the best case scenario being spend big and expect them to hit the ground running straight off the bat... It's all beyond frustrating.

So basically Bale may leave the club one day, when that day comes Real Madrid may be one of the potential buyers, If they meet our asking price then he may go there; It's ok I'm just stating the situation as its been for the last couple of years, so what is the news from the mirror?
The actual news is that we get first option on Ozil is it not?
By the way "mirror" he's only just turned 23 he's not 25, put about as much research into that as the rest of the story, Christ they only had to look at Wicki!!

Well after this "partnership" deal, did you guys expect any less from the rags?? This deal is going to be more beneficial to the rags than either us or Madrid! :D

I expressed similar views a few days ago and was derided. We shall be a feeder club for RM.

I don't see what the problem is. Surely we'd only sell a player like Bale if we had another top quality player lined up as a guaranteed replacement. Anything else would be unbelieveably naive and stupid.

Oh wait....

Players come and go. Best thing is don't get attached.

The key to selling players when the time comes is not to leave it till the last few days because youre trying to squeeze a few more mil out the buyer when you haven't signed a replacement.

That is something it seems we still haven't learned from.

The very least they can do is link him to a team that needs or has space for him.
I don't think he is linked to them any more than any other player. It's just a typically misleading headline, with the truth being stretched very thinly behind it.

Absolutely - far too inconsistent and lacking of work ethic to compensate his obvious talents.

If £45million got us Moutinho and Llorente, would anyone complain?

I kow it's the Mirror and the article is 2+2 = 5 the only thing I can see coming out of this partnership is something like this with more benefit to them than us.

25 refers to Lennon, the article states Bale as 23.

I suspect this is a surmisation based on the undisclosed deal with Real. It has, however, been publicly refuted several times that this is anything to do with first team players, and the player part of the deal refers to youth players.

I would be very surprised if there was any genuine information at all - why, when it was Real who were desperate to push the Modric signing though due to their poor start, and they would, therefore, be in a mood to be conciliatory towards us, would they make such an onerous demand? And why would Daniel Levy cave in over it? And why, if it was Levy pushing for this deal, would he do so if the terms were so wieghted against us that we would relegate ourselves to being Real's feeder club. if the writers of articles like this reasoned thus, rather than making lame surmisations, they might write better articles. But, there again, they get paid for doing so because folk buy the newspapers...so what do they care, eh?

Who would be assisting for Llorente then? I think the last few years are now evidence enough to show when we sell Bale, we won't buy big expensive stars even if we have a huge fee (or couple of fees) in the bank.

IMO this article is based upon nothing but a journalist trying desparately to find a story to write - and latching onto the Spurs RM 'partnership' agreement. Nowhere in the public domain has it talked of senior players - only youth players, coaches etc.

Footballinwise I cannot see RM wanting Bale whilst they have Ronaldo, as the two will be competing for similar space.

I could see Bale fitting in far better at Barcelona - but there the journalist would be stuck for a sroryline.

Non story

No point in posting it here or indeed the drivelling that pours out of Talkshite.

We just took Fulham's two (arguably) best players. RM could take two of ours (and pay handsomely for them). Damn this football food chain!

Rather be in this food chain than Arsenal's. At least this way we don't capitulate to our rivals. :p

This year he's looked more like a £4,5M player - if we get anything near £45M a sale is a no-brainer as long as he continues to underperform.

He'll be gone next year. I think if he could've done he would've walked off the pitch and onto a plane to Madrid yesterday...
