The problem we have is soldado scores all his goals from inside the box. But lennon is the only player that can get in there.

Townsend and Walker can both get in there.

If he did that, he may have had other clubs sniffing around him - I thought he looked supreme before his injury last season. Still love watching his goal vs The Scum last season, the way he ghosted across their back line. He also tracks back brilliantly and harries the opposition.

My only two criticisms of him are his end product and his eyebrows.

haha - big 10-4 on the eyebrows. And yes, he's a good player, imo with a big game mentality that is often overlooked.

Remember the 2-1 win against Pool a couple of yrs back. We were very sloppy that game and then in injury time we had one chance to nail it. Azza runs onto the ball and calmly slots it home for the winnder. He's got gumption in those situations.

Injuries etc have taken their toll because had he kept on progressing all these yrs, he'd have left us a while back, imo.

As I've said before, I'll love him a squad player and will never be unhappy to see him named in the XI. Dangerous player, even if only creating space for others.

I'll say no more and leave the floor open to the footballing aficionados who give him untold shit for not being Luis Figo circa 2001.

I dont think we lacked his pace as from the small part of the game I looked at they were playing deep so wouldn't have been able to get in much. We lack that killer ball or smart run to unlock the defence, but it will come once the players get used to each other more

The guy had his faults, but he is a very good player and one who, regardless of who comes in, we would be fools to let go of. Damn fools.

I think there is a chance that Soldado is just the player to form a beautiful relationship with Azza. Quiet beach holidays, romantic city breaks, little notes in each others' lunch boxes, a gentle nibble of the ear whilst watching countdown... the whole nine yards. Then bang Azza has 15 more assists a season and Soldado wins the golden boot.

What good is a player whose all pace and no end product?

None whatsoever. But only a dozen players had more assists than Lennon last season, and only half a dozen provided more assists from open play. So if you're suggesting Lennon has no end product (probably you were referring to someone else entirely), you are some way wide of the mark.
