Madrid's tactic is obviously to unsettle the player in the media so much that not only do they get him but for less than they might have to pay because they player wants out.

The problem with this plan is that Levy will not stand for it and Bale does not want to leave, I do worry about Bale's agent though and what advice he could be getting from Barrett.

It's to the point where I just say fuck the partnership and Real Madrid.

Every time they put some quote out about Bale, add a couple million pounds to their personal "Bale fee." Shit, give them a call every time it happens.

Levy: "Hey Florentino, I saw the quotes... 82million pounds now. Tell Zidane I said hello."

Everyone else that may be interested can stick around that 70-80m figure. But not you, Real.

They aren't our partner, they are almost like our personal bully at this point. First Modric, now Bale. Everyone knows that Modric had the idea planted into his mind by Real Madrid and it's becoming even more clear with how they are resulting to the same tactics, but in a more public manner, for Bale. It's probably due to the fact that they know Bale would like to stay another year, but they can't have that.

I'm a little bitter at this point. I think if the full-court press was coming from a different club it might be a little easier to take, but to lose our two best players in two successive summers to the same club, that's just too much.

If they want Bale, it should be for a huge price and also a player coming our way. Personally, I don't view a partnership as one where the one team gets an inside track to players and the other team just gets left with cash in hand and the hopes that the right moves will be made with the money earned.

It's was a bit different with Modric though, we probably weren't that disappointed with their interest as Levy was desperate not to sell to Chelsea or United and there weren't too many other options.

This is outrageous. Thought Zizou had more class than this. As if FIFA or UEFA would do anything to Real Madrid, so it is not even worth reporting them.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/tottenham-transfer-news-gareth-bale-1955201?

Real Madrid sporting director Zinedine Zidane has urged Bernabeu target Gareth Bale to fast-track his move to Spain by asking to leave Tottenham, writes Steve Bates of the Sunday People .
The French legend, one of Madrid’s original Galacticos, is hoping Real can clinch an £85million deal for the double Footballer of the Year this summer .
But with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy playing hard-ball over Bale’s future, Zidane sees a transfer request from the 23-year-old midfield star as the deal-maker.

Zidane said: “I think Real Madrid have made their admiration of Gareth Bale very clear – and it has been made clear that we would not be put off by the cost of the player.

“But if Gareth feels now is the time to move then he has to have a private discussion with his club and express that he wants to leave.”
This blatant attempt to force the issue won’t go down well at White Hart Lane.
Sources at Tottenham say despite the team’s failure to make the Champions League, Bale is happy at the club and has given no indication he plans to leave this summer.

Ummm, isn't this illegal?

I think levy has found a Brucey bonus and way to pay Bales extra wages :)

If those quotes are real then I don't see Levy doing business with them.

Thinking about it, if they've resorted to such blatant tapping up (even by their standards) then maybe we've already told them to do one.

Sounds about right to me.

Anybody just hear that twat Micky Quinn on talksport- he was saying that if Madrid or united come in for bale then he should go as he owes spurs nothing and these clubs might never come in for you again etc etc.

This was literally 2 minutes after saying that Suarez should stay at Liverpool if Madrid come in for him and should respect his club and show some loyalty.

The hypocrisy was unbelievable and he is paid for this sort of "analysis". Absolute joke!

Rant over :)

He cannot stand Tottenham because they are now a better , more organised and more attractive club than Liverpool, they still have the history though

Basically he's a bitter red

At least Quinn is sticking up for his team though, seems like some our former players can't wait to see Bale leave either.

The simple truth about Micky Quinn is that he's incorrect. He says these clubs might never come in for you again, he doesn't get it does he, these clubs will keep coming back year after year after year so he can bide his time and choose when and where he likes.

From the Mirror today regarding PSG chasing Andre also including Bale in the "negotiations" :D who the fuck they're negotiating with I don't know.
:-
The Daily Mirror makes the extraordinary claim on the back page this morning, having already reported that the Ligue 1 champions are not only prepared to activate AVB’s £10m release clause at White Hart Lane, but to pay him the same amount annually in a four-year contract.
Add that to today’s report, in which it is claimed that PSG have ‘discussed a world record £85m bid for Bale as part of the negotiations’, and you have a club going full tilt to bring the Portuguese on board.

And here we go AGAIN .......

Gareth Bale should leave Tottenham - Zico

Use accessible player and disable flyout menus

Brazilian legend Zico says it is important for an "excellent" player like Gareth Bale "to compete in the Champions League".
Zico, real name Arthur Antunes Coimbra, points to Real Madrid and PSG as potential destinations for Bale, saying they are sides the Tottenham and Wales attacker could play for in order to "grow and develop even more".
The Tottenham midfielder's agent told Spanish television in May that the PFA Player of Year and Young Player of the Year would be willing to listen to an offer from Real Madrid this summer, though Spurs have insisted he is not for sale.
Zico also talks about Brazil's chances in the Confederations Cup
