Cracking free kick too, quite Cristiano Ronaldo-esk i think. Needs to put more away like that for us and maybe now VDV is gone ( ) he will as they're both left footers.

The quality of the ones that went in were high...but I think this blinds folk to the attempts per goal ratio which was, I think, not that good.

I know that Sigurdsson hasn't torn the pitch up, yet, but what I noticed straight away was that we now have someone who can clear the first man when taking corners.

Also free kicks are horrible indicators of how good a team is. We were 4th place last season and the worst team in the league on them, while Stoke finished mid table and Blackburn were relegated.

I didn't say Bale was crap or anything, the technique was good and yes very Ronaldo-esque. But look at the wall, if you want to take a free kick like that, the wall was in the perfect place for Bale, he pretty much had a free shot at goal and did well to convert the chance but the wall should've been over a bit further, you can't leave such a massive gap with him to aim at. Unless the camera angle is just shit on that video because it doesn't show the front on view.
