It will never happen. If and when he leaves (and I hope that won't be for many seasons) it will be abroad not to another UK side. That is a big IF.

Fair enough. We get to keep him for another 3 yrs then. I'd happily wave him off, even on a free, if we cement ourselves as a top 4 side in the meantime and the club earns ~£100m in increased revenues as a consequence. It's a fair exchange that.

If DL does sell him to Yanited, it would be a crushing blow, imo. I really believe that. The board and the club would define itself as not worthy of competing at the same level by doing so. Feel free to disagree but selling to yanited would be a major mistake, imo, and not just in the case of strengthening a so-called rival and weakening ourselves but the impression it would give others of the club from the outside.

Oh trust me I would be gutted ad most of my friends are Manure fans. I think that if we keep developing and get some investment this summer and challenge we could hold onto him but we have to rememeber United is to home grown players what Madrid is to foriegn players, ie the best club team in recent history. Bale will have grown up seeing United win everything and his hero and fellow contryman Giggs at the sentre of it all, it would be a natural disire for him. We MUST keep improving.

Nothing in it IMO but I think he will end up at United, not this summer but I think its the only club he would really want to join.

I just threw up :)

I think Real would interest him, but maybe not immediately due to his circumstances, young family etc

Our results for years have proven we don't compete at the same level. We haven't won the league for over half a century. We've played in the Champion's League once. We're doing well, but they're still light years ahead.

You know what? I wouldn't.

Agree. Football isn't some sort of swap shop! We have a young ambitious player who loves playing for us. If he happens to get sold abroad for mega money then fair enough, we will just have to find another young ambitious player to fill his spot.

One of the many things I love about being a spurs fan is our squad and the team spirit.

We have young top quality international standard players in Lloris, Vertonghen, Dembele, Holtby and Sandro.

We have a core of passionate domestic players who give everything every game in Walker, Daws, Caulker, Parker and Lennon.

We have one of European top u21 teams with plenty of decent talent playing here or on loan.

We have a young, ambitious, passionate and clearly talented manager who wants to win the biggest prizes in football.

If we get CL football we should be able to add to this further and improve our squad and keep pushing forward.

Why would anyone want to leave??!

Thanks for stating the bleedin' obvious. ;)

The plan is to try and get to that level though. So OK, sometimes we have to accept losing our best players. Only as the last resort should they ever be sold to a prem club though. It's basically an admission and acceptance of inferiority from the club itself.

If Bale simply wants to leave and is courted as one of the best in the world at the time, then fine. RM, Barca, AC, Bayern. All credible clubs and financially capable of signing him. None of them are direct competition either.

In 4 years after winning a few Premier League titles and the Champions League with us he'll not want to go anywhere, I hope

Danny Simpson was also at the game, it means he is either going to join Madrid or United. See I can make shit up as well, maybe I should apply to the Daily Fail to earn an easy wage. :D

I'd be interested to know how he managed to obtain a ticket.

I make a judgement then
