I am going to get my new shirt tomorrow from JJB, and want some printing on the back, I kinda fancy Bale, what number was he this year, and do you reckon he will keep the same number next season? Muchas Gracias

I was thinking about this the other day. There's a high chance he will still be 16, but if Wipey leaves, it will free up the No. 3, which is the traditional LB number. As Bale didn't play too much this season, he isn't really well known for being number 16. It's a possibility it will change.

My advice - wait and see.

I dont understand why the club has not released squad numbers for next year, with making the kits available so early

a simple reason...

we give the numbers out now, people go and put them on the back of there shirts...we then go and sell (lets say for argument sake) 7 players, which then free's up 7 numbers, we then sign afew players and give them numbers that were originaly said to be taken.... so they wait untill towards the start of the season so they have a much better idea of who will be there and what numbers everyone should get instead of changing numbers every few weeks or days

sort of defeats the object though dont it....cos even the club wont print players names, in case they dont sign, or any changes

I could always go for Keane 10, but thats what everyone will have!! Any other ideas anyone?

Jenas, Zokora, Lennon, Malbranque...the players who have been here for a couple of seasons, and aren't expected to leave, will all most likely keep their numbers. Whether they'll keep their places or not...

can i just ask what the object is?

The club puts the shirts on sale early because people want them for the next season and complain when they have to wait so long to get there hands on them once the players wear them. You can buy the shirt now and get the name printed onto the shirt at a later date, or just buy the shirt at a later date when you know

the club doesnt know who will be at the club or what numbers they will be, so they wont want to print them incase the club gets in new players and sell others and numbers all get changed resulting in alot of fans complaining

i dont know if they will, with a new manager, and talks of afew new people coming in, even players who have been here for a few seasons might get numbers moved about

Numbers and names on the back of shirts? What are you, like 5?

5 and a half actually

My point was, I didnt know if JJB allow you take it back at a later date.

Like what happens if you buy a shirt from, say Kitbag, take it to JJB to get printing, what if they burn it (or like a few season ago, when the heat took the gold SPURS sign off the blue collar thing) if that was not bought from JJB would they replace it?

Simple enough really:stupid:

I thought it was only going on sale at the club shop from saturday, so surely it's not available in jjb yet?

JJB just tell you to keep the receipt to show them to get the cheaper printing done, so yeah you can get it printed whenever you want as long as you keep the receipt for the shirt you bought from them.

I just went ahead and got Bale 16 done anyway. I like the number 16! Don't bother me if it does change, I'll be getting Modric one too probably, and maybe one for Ronaldinho:wink:
