I think that's pretty much what the party line from the Chelsea camp was. I think it was JT who said as much.

exactly PT - and Ballack should have stuck to it and not come out and denigrate us - and comparing us to Barnsley on top of it (no disrespect but pleaseeeeeeeeeeee)

What do we expect from ballack?

He probably thinks the best thing in 'The Sound of Music' were the Germans.

I dont really care what anyone says about the Carling Cup Final, i was delighted with the result, the lads done us proud, we beat Chelsea fair & square, we lifted the cup at Wembley & we partied all night long - what more can you ask for ???

As the Rock (TM) may have said, "It doesn't matter what you think!!!!"

Even though I stopped watching WWF/WWE years ago this is the first thing that came into my head.

Chelsea were poor on the day, I agree, but was that possibly because of the way we played, rather than them having an off day??

exactly DC555 - CFC had a full team to pick from and couldn't beat us - so why denigrate us-

they can't come up with AFC's 'reserves excuses - notice incidentally how most of those reserves played last night in the Champions League - whereas only 2 or 3 turned out for the actual reserves the night before

To be fair though, from his point of view, although we did play really welll on the day, Chelsea did not. If they had played to form, the result may have been a lot different.

But that is football and it's about "on the day". Ballack's team-mates never turned up - our guys did and the rest is history.

Mate, you sound like Andy Grey!! Of course they did not play well because King, Woodgate, Zokora, Berbatov, Lennon, Steed, Chimbonda, Hutton, keane Jenas and even Robbo didnt allow them to. I know Chelesea can be good but give us some credit ffs :bang:

Every Chelsea fan i've met or spoke to since that cup win has given usa the respect we deserved. They all say we deserved it and that is what really matters. We outplayed Man City at their place, we fucking spanked Arsenal and then we had more hunger and self-belief than Chelsea and won that cup. That takes some doing.

Especially given some of the teams the FA cup finalists had to play on the way.

I think winning this year's CCup is arguably of greater merit than winning the FAC.

TBH I dont care if the sole reason we won was because they were on a off day, WE WON FOR FFS

:) Bullet - it's true this Ballack nonsense is exactly the sort of guff Andy Gray comes out with - cos it's not actually possible for us to beat the big 4 is it- they can only beat themselves when playing nobodies like us :)
