Because it's not a 'who scored the most goals' competition.

So what is it then? An award for consistency? Because Vardy isn't exactly consistent, actually it could be argued that with Leicester last season that was the best season of his career and there is no proof he will hit those heights again.

In comparison with Kane who has has multiple consistent seasons, I mean I may have my spurs tinted glasses on when I say this but I think he is more deserving of being on that list than Vardy personally.

i wasn't disagreeing with the notion that Kane should've been included, I was disagreeing with him being included solely based on goals scored.
Im not surprised that Vardy is included when his goals won them the league and with his whole rags to riches backstory.

Ah, fair enough mate my apologies. I agree with you in that regard.

I find him being included amongst the worlds "elite" footballers is rather ridiculous however, this is why I normally don't even pay attention to these lists, ultimately it means nothing though so it's not a big deal.

If Vardy did win it (which he won't) then he can keep his trophy, as long as Kane keeps banging in goals I could care less lol.

Congrats to Lloris for being nominated.

What I don't understand is that if Jamie Vardy is nominated, why is Harry Kane not? Who has the golden boot?
I suspect because h=his goals, with those of Mahrez, led Leicester to the title whereas Lloris is in a team that has won nothing. It's likely that Ronald will win because of Portugal winning the Euros

So does this make Lloris one of the top 3 goalkeepers? Only other keepers nominated were Buffon and Neuer

Because it's not a 'who scored the most goals' competition.

Which is precisely why Kane is more worthy of a place than Vardy. Kane contributes far more to our overall play than Vardy does for Leicester. It just so happens that Kane scored more goals as well.

Vardy got 7 more assists than Kane and only scored 1 goal less and also won the league with Leicester, so I can see how he got in there ahead of him.

Vardy is deservedly on there in my opinion what he done last year was extraordinary.

Kane highly unlucky to miss out however, England's shocking euros has done him in.

In my opinion when you look at a player like Dyabala, who has done well and won the title in Italy to be fair, is he going to be able to get you 20 plus goals two seasons in a row in the Prem like Kane has? I would be sceptical personally. Look at the recent imports from that league over here (not saying Dyabala is not a talent).

Delighted to see Lloris on there and we have a couple of others who can't have been far off after last season (Alderweireld, Dembele). Hopefully next year we have 3-4 on this list.

Exactly. Vardy played a huge part in Leicester winning the title.

Fans are so biased it's funny. Kane would have made the shortlist if he had a decent Euros, but he had a terrible tournament. Him missing out is hardly much of a controversy.

Vardy is clearly a Norman name and this shortlist has an absurdly strong Gallic bias.

Just thought it's time to dig out this little beauty from the match threads...January 2016.
I'm not even worried if we don't make the CL as Lloris can leave as far as I'm concerned, he's been a liability on so many occasions this season.
Don't take it personally @ShaunL84 ;)

I'm quite glad Kane missed out and Alli out of the recent best u21 competition. Our lads are pretty grounded anyway but it shows them the job isn't done.

To be a real success you need to help your team win something. If we don't win anything with these players most will be forgotten about in generations to come. Go out there and win us a fucking trophy!

I'm fairly sure that last paragraph will be part of poch's pre match talk tonight.

Leicester fudging City has two!?

Yet their best player from last year, Kante, does not make the list...

Kane not getting on there over Aguero and Vardy is an absolute joke. Top scorer in the league, what more could he do as an individual?

Congrats to Lloris. Always said he was the best keeper in the league and I still stand by it.
