Maybe you want to check out how awful teams like Utd and Liverpool actually are.

We have just as much chance as either of them.

Obviously not true I know this for a fact as sky TV tells me every 15mins on loop :dead:

Chelsea the worst of the bunch.

I actually dont think it is even a case of Chelsea being out of form. Their defence is shot, and people have figured out how to play against Mourinho.

Any team who counters them with pace will have joy.

Utd and Liverpool are just horrible, long balls to Fellaini and Milner as captain... Arsenal are just arsenal, they will look good against the lower teams but are no threat to City.

That's a very good point really.

Sorry to harp on about the 90's, but we were dire back then and we gave that unconditional love and support back then.

It's all about the expectation levels really. I think the only thing we should really expect is to see this team improve and I think we're beginning to see this.

Regardless, the team didn't pick themselves, so they don't deserve the negative vibes. Positive vibes will only help to see that improvement sooner rather than later.
I many ways I'm glad my ST days were during the late 90's / early 00's. Haha, we were so pony. Loved every minute of it. Still had the moany bastards but their numbers were limited because, well, you can't polish a turd. Still won a sodding League Cup though didn't we? Suck it 95% of the rest of English football. :D You wish you had a history like ours.

I think the saddest thing is that I forget the reality of our dull football about an hour before every game, then less than a minute in it all comes flooding back.

We used to be the entertainers of the Prem not so long ago. League positions weren't as good, but did just as well on the trophy front and at least we were usually, erm, entertaining.

I can still be entertained by a clinical and efficient display, but we don't even get that.
You're right even when we were shite we at least had one or two who could get you off your seat. Sadly this is now not the case.

Harry Kane doesnt get you off your seat? They didnt give you a 5-3 victory against last years champions? the 2-1 over arsenal last year didnt make you just a little wet?

Give this set of kids a chance to prove themselves to you - you might be surprised at what they can do.

I've been reading a lot of crap lately. In the press, online and on this site. There are too many sad sacks bringing us down.

No - Spurs are not on the slide. On the contrary, we are on the up!

I can see something special building here. We have the rare combination of talented youth and some seriously underrated players that are close to finding their mojo. I believe in this team and I believe in this club! The Pochettino magic is just about to happen. I am going to make a prediction. We'll get top four this season. Get on the Tottenham plane lads and lassies, the engines are just starting to power up! Or go and do whatever....:) (y)
I'll have whatever he's having.

Same mate, East stand lower, near the Shelf, used to have a Whale of a time chanting against Park Lane, the drum, the Yids chant, I Love Steffen Freund, all of it. We went determined to be the 12th Man and had fun doing it.

Find that mindset again and it filters to the team on the pitch. Look at Palace. Yes they are playing well, but you can't tell me that the positivity from the crowd doesn't affect that.

Think we could eventually get back there in a year or two if we can keep our squad together. I rate Poch and we've got a lot of promising youngsters.

But, let's be honest, it's unlikely we'll keep the squad together. It's not a huge criticism of Levy (although obviously I'd prefer him to strong arm our best players to stay), but that's just football these days. Players move on and go places where they'll get paid more and challenge for trophies.

The only chance we have is if a couple of them turn out to be World Class, like what happened with Bale and Modric. It'd be the shot in the arm we'd need to make the squad truly believe they could do great things at Spurs.

This season though, I genuinely think we'll finish mid-table. Our squad has major holes in it and we look like we're still piecing it all together.

Ah, I'd have been in Park Lane. We're the Park Lane...it also makes me far giddier than it should, being a grown man, that SF is a coach at Spurs. :D

Not usually one for "told you so" bumps, but considering some of the replies I'd say on this occasion it is more than valid.

It would be great if we could win the EPL prematurely and then come in to our prime.

One sad thing about the Double team was that it should have won the league in 59/60 but blew it. Had it won it it would have been ballistic in the European Cup in 60/61.

In 62 and 63 too. Four on the trot wouldn't have flattered them.
