I can't help but feel sorry for Balotelli it's like the football worlds against him. From the outside looking in I've never known a footballer to receive such sustained negative coverage. The shirt swap was integrated by Pepe for a start. Liverpool ain't playing to his strength and he is not Saurez.

Rough waters ahead it looks like the press are on his case and i hope he can turn it around personally feel theres a good striker in him.

Is this thread of your own making or did you just copy and paste it from RAWK?

If he is a victim, then he's certainly found the right club.

Yes he is.

All this talk about 'Liverpool culture' is BS, where was said culture when Coutinho and Sahko swapped shirts with opponents (separate occasions) at half time last season?

Criticise his form but don't make it personal.

I agree but isn't part of the reason he is hailed as a great player in this country because of his personality

But didn't his t-shirt at citeh say as much?
Was doing well in Italy but decided to chase the cash so no sympathy from me, he knew what he was coming back to...

I don't suppose Rodgers is too fussed, quite frankly. For another week It takes the spotlight off the fact that he (Rodgers) spent £16m assuaging his own vanity by thinking he could do what even Mourinho couldn't do.

TBF Sahko was reprimanded for that, not sure about Coutinho though.

They build him up and crush him as they see fit, the way Rodgers talks about him doesn't help.

The Liverpool Echo front page is pathetic, Balotelli's 'antics' don't come close to Suarez, that guy was on a different planet.

Suarez antics (bad as they were) came from a desire to win at all costs.

Ballotelli's antics come from "I don't give a shit".

If you are paying a fortune to watch a football match. You might be more inclined to forgive one but not the other.

In all fairness I'm sure he was told he was being subbed so not like he had to concentrate on the second half.

Suarez shamed the club and damaged their reputation by being a racist, biting a player twice (!) and demanded to be sold to a domestic rival. I'll never forget those stupid t shirts.

Balotelli has his moments but he's never done anything as bad/embarrassing as that.

This goes beyond constructive criticism, it's personal. He's the scapegoat for their poor defence and worse goalkeeper. They had their asses handed to them by Real Madrid not Stoke.

Which doesn't negate my point.

The way everybody is going on about him, particularly ex Liverpool players is embarrassing to be honest. He's clearly a bit screwed up in the head. They're shooting themselves in the foot. Oh well. Fuck 'em.

Not really, he was awful for the last half a season at Milan and they wanted him gone. I don't think he particularly wants to be at Liverpool, which is never a good way to start a career at a club. Think he'll be back in Italy sooner rather than later tbh.

Unbelievable really. A victim? He is paid millions of pounds to play football. He hasn't looked like he wants to be there since he arrived, other than perhaps his first game against us. He then gets bored and frustrated and treats it like he's doing a reluctant favour for a mate. Liverpool aren't playing to his strengths? What are they? Acting like a spoilt child and looking like an attention seeking buffoon?

The shirt swap was just another example of unprofessional behaviour. If it were an one off, and I do think other players have done it, he should be reprimanded and then move on. But it's symptomatic of his indifference. Liverpool were 0-3 down in their biggest game of the season and he just acts like it's a kickabout in the park with his mates.

This puts a different slant on it.

I did like Rodgers comments though. Something along the lines of "We don't swap shirts at half time at this club. We did it last season as well".
