Barca will be able to raise about a half billion Euros in cash after agreeing to sell 49.9% of their merchandise company and up to 25% of La Liga TV revenue for the next 25 years.

Selling the family silver to pay off old debts and ridiculous contracts.

Pigeons coming home to roost. No more than they deserve, but it's a pity it won't ever happen to Man City, PSG or Newcastle (at least, not in my lifetime), and it seems Chelsea have got away with a free 1.5 billion bung from Abramovic with zero consequences.

Just seen this absolute madness. Few years they will be in even bigger trouble. This is what happens when fans run a football club. Currently unbelievably thankful we have levy he wouldn’t do this if you put a gun to his head.

Don’t do it! You’ll be hamstrung with debt repayments!

Barcelona will play at the city’s Olympic Stadium during the 2023-24 season while Camp Nou is renovated as part of the club’s ‘Espai Barca’ plans. The project, described by president Joan Laporta as “vital for the club’s viability”, will see a redevelopment of both the Camp Nou and the wider Barcelona campus.

Barcelona will continue playing at the Camp Nou next season, but will relocate afterwards to Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys for one season. Laporta said: “Barcelona will have the privilege to play at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys in the 2023-24 season during the recently approved Espai Barca work.

“Work begins on the first and second levels this summer and when major work is done on the third level and roof, we’ll play here.”

Have they changed the plans? The last I saw they were just building another level. Unless they are putting in a serious amount of corporate or making it multi use I struggle to see how they get a decent return on investment. Sure they'll get a few more tourists but they already do fairly well out of that, there has to be a saturation point.

According to an article on the i they want to go from 100k to 105k and tidy up the look of the concourses. Seems like a lot of money to stand still.

Another thing I’ve heard about Barcelona recently is they have mega gone for it in scouting British kids along with PSG.

offering kids as young as 6/7 places at la masia but they go through English school out there or something bonkers part of some plan they have to mix the English physicality with Spanish technique but surely by being out there they don’t learn the English game or physically ?
