From what I understand it is not the Spanish Government, Spanish FA or UEFA that Barca, Real, Osasuna and Athletic Bilbao have to worry about its the EU.

If these clubs are made give up their charitable status its going to cost the clubs in terms of tax and also greater examination of their funding. No more selling plots of land for hugely over inflated prices.

Also Valencia are in a ridiculous position being owned by the local government, which is against UEFA rules and also the EU are unhappy that bail out funds are being used to help run a football club.
No the Valencia situation isn't ridiculous, its fucking insane the local government have shares in Valencia(70%), Levante, Elche(40%) and Hercules(65%)

They have a tax break for being charities! Surely we must qualify for that given our performances against City and Liverpool this season!

I might be wrong but with tax fraud you either pay up or face the consequences. They've paid up, so that's that.

Not necessarily. HMRC take into account whether it was deliberate concealment and whether you own up etc. This can affect the punishment.

So they paid £10m back to the authorities, who are bank rolling them anyway? I might have missed something along the road though
