You are all working yourselves in to a lather with excitement at the prospect of UEFA taking decisive action against one of the biggest clubs in the world who make UEFA ( the organisation with a perfect record of investigation and implementing measures as draconian as taking only one sugar in their tea instead of two) a shed load of money.

If you believe that then you probably still believe in Father Christmas and the Easter Bunny.

Except it isn't eufa investigating.....it's the EU and the Spanish courts. The Spanish government is in enough shit already with an investigation into backhanders and bribes that senior parliamentary figures may have received, so quite likely they won't wantto get too involved.......this could get interesting very quickly.

So this would seem to be based on Spain's economic woes. And rightly so. If there is 60 million (possibly way more) minimum that was done under the table, that is quite a lot of revenue lost.

And say what you will about governmental corruption, it doesn't take much to get the people off a common occurrence. You just find a better story and most folks will forget the rather drab world of government kickbacks and eat up the juicy story. And Barca cheating the government out of millions is just that story.

That being said, people would be better off concentrating on the corruption, but that's just not how it goes, is it?

And I agree that this should be on the head of Barca, Misfit. I just wonder why the investigation is focusing on the president. If a CEO of a company makes a shady deal, you look at both him and the company. Why they seem to be ignoring the latter seems odd (but I am probably just missing part of the story).

I wonder how many more of these they will find if they start looking. I'd be amazed if it was a one off.

So did they get the book thrown at them?
Not yet. This could leave quite a nasty papercut though.

The spanish government want tax revenue. Many people/companies in spain have been evading tax. So what do they do, take someone high profile messi/barca and make an example of them. Then say "look what we did to them, what do you think we'll do to you? Now pay up!"

Italy have done the same.

Right... I know the new president personally and have met Rosell numerous times as well.

Wait until more details come out... Rosell hasn't taken any money or benefited personally in any way. There are 3rd party issues... Noone has hid any monies... Noone has borrowed 100 million from the bank(Bale, wait until more comes out with that.......). Monies were paid to Neymar's father as he acted as his agent, and had some 3rd party ownership. Maybe SR has not told the whole truth publically but doesn't have to as Barca is not a plc and is owned by socios. As long is reported in accounts correctly next year there isn't an issue. This one stupid transfer is going to define SR's legacy rather than achievements on the pitch, the renovation of Camp Nou, the clearing of 200 million euros of debt etc.

As for Uefa or rfe sanctions. On what grounds??? Not giving all the details publically of a transfer??? Noone has stole money or benefited in any personal way... Laportas board were spying on people, using private jets, benefiting personally from club business(I know a lot).

This one socio who has filed the lawsuit(Jordi Casas) I bet is tied to Laporta is some way. Lawsuits and mocio de censura for what???????

Update:

Cadena Ser, a very reliable radio station in Spain, has stated that Barcelona are facing a possible fine of up to €230 million link

It's also been reported that they face a potential 3 year ban from the CL and a 22pt deduction in the league

Cadena ser a Madrid based unionist radio station. Understand what is going on between Spain and Catalunya at the moment and the Novemer 9th independence referendum.. It will give you some prespective on why a Madrid based right wing radio station is making these claims.

I thought the case was against Rosell and not Barca?
Nothing has been filed from uefa or rfe(Spanish equivalent of FA).

A socio Jordi Casas, as his right as a member has filed a complaint in Spanish court against Rosell asking to know details of the transfer. Casas himself has said he isn't accusing anyone of taking the clubs money or benefiting personally. He wants to know who got what etc. It is likely he has some link to Joan Laporta the ex president. Rosell was Laportas former vice president 2003-2005. They have had a running feud since.

Nothing will happen. Barca and Real are both bigger than La Liga, and more importantly bigger than UEFA. Losing one of them will have too much of a financial affect on the footballing world.

It is the same principle with banks, the biggest banks on the world will never go bankrupt as the government will just bail them out when they are in trouble.

And the case will drag and drag. Doubt if it will be finished by November 9th and we all know what is likely to happen that day... Then that judge in Madrid likely will have no juridistication to hear the case.

I still don't get it. How do Barcelona evade tax? On import tax for footballers?

And so what if Real Madrid borrowed money and pay in installments? Completely normal.

A nice little summary of everything from the Brazilian side of things
ok Insight from Brazil. Since the deal was made, SEVERAL investigative journalists here claimed that it was a deal made to trick the private investors that had a large % of Neymar's contract. I won't post sources here because this isn't a post or a news source. I'm talking about dozens of journalists, hundreds of news, posts etc. Search those people involved + 'Juca Kfouri', or 'Blog do Paulinho', etc... This is no surprise from us.

Real Madrid made a few pretty good offers to Santos, other clubs too, but every one would mean that at least 55% of that money would go to those private investors. So Barça, and mostly Rosell, contacted Neymar, Neymar Sr. and Santos with offers that they could made the deal and all parties would get more money. The two friendlies, a pre-sale of 3 young players at a fixed price and some closed doors bonus to Neymar Sr.

When the deal happened the private investors at the moment were outrageous by the price, since santos already refused higher offers. So they all KNEW at the next day something was amiss. They all filed lawsuits against santos, barcelona, neymar sr. and santos president. They received their "official" share but the case is already running on Brazilian Justice. They want Santos to pay the other millions they claim was payed behind closed doors. Santos is pretty clear with what they got, they say they have nothing to hide, and I believe them. I believe that amount was what entered the club's finance.

The rest of the money is probably on the INDIVIDUALS. Rossel, Neymar Sr, Luis Alvaro de Oliveira Ribeiro (Santos President THAT ALSO STEPPED DOWN AFTER THE DEAL) and others. The extra share that santos got is probably on the 2 friendlies deal and the 3 young talents Barcelona will chose to buy with a fixed price.

So the club got extra money from sources that aren't linked to Neymar, this way they don't have to pay the private investors. Neymar Sr. also earned a few millions to persuade his son to join Barcelona and not other club, Luis Alvaro de Oliveira probably earned a few to facilitate things for Barcelona and Rosell himself by receiving a share of the money that Barcelona payed other people involved on the deal (Probably Neymar Sr and Luis Alvaro), and they would send it back to him.

This is not new for us. Since MAY these rumours and allegations are being informed in Brazil. You maybe just heard it now but this whole deal has been investigated by our journalists since day one. Chances are that if any punishment ever comes, it won't come from here, so it's a big deal finally someone in Spain is also investigating and possibly punishing people about it.

Just to finish on the rumours from Brazil, Rosell is CLOSE friend to Ricardo Teixeira, ex-president of CBF. Teixeira is 100% corrupt in everything he does, he ran away to Florida and gave up the Brazilian World cup so he wouldn't go to jail. That's as bad as you can think. So we really really really don't trust Teixeira and ANYONE involved with him in ANYTHING. Do you think FIFA is corrupt? Blatter is an innocent baby compared to Teixeira...

They're both liars. Don't believe a word they say. They lure you in with promises of presents and chocolate eggs then do unspeakable things to you. Afterwards they call you their elf and make you work for no money. Bastards.
