'BBC Pundit?' They should both be embarrased.....it was like something from the Life of Brian this summer re a transfer that never actually happened!

Isnt it weird that one of the highest profile players in world football has a total amateur, inexperienced, and apparently pretty incompetent agent?

I thought it was a done deal, for what that's worth.
Guardiola seemed to blame kane, and kane seemed to blame the club for the deal collapsing.
It really could have been something relatively small that broke the deal.

With Charlie being the main middle man, it is not impossible to think that he did seal a deal at £160m as he blurted out, but forgot loads of details - things like the final 'loyalty' bonus, which can be be quite hefty.
If CK returned to Levy to tell him that £10m of the fee (for instance) was now going to eaten by a bonus, I think it fair to say that Levy would have told him kane would have to forgo that, in so many words.

It would have taken some pretty advanced people and negotiation skills to get the deal between the 3 parties over the line at this hypothetical point, and Charlie just didn't have the experience to do it. Maybe.

I think Trix suggested at one point it was very close too, so I can believe this.

Edit: Apparently not, I stand corrected!

i think if City has showed they wanted to spend some money it would have been.

No what I said was that was what was coming out of City, I posted soon after that things were seen very differently from our side. The City stuff was coming from an agent with a key player there.

My take on that point in time is that City underestimated Levy's stance, and/or overestimated what the Kane's were relaying to them.

Thanks for correcting me. Didn't mean to misrepresent you.
