Yep. Great player with a great attitude. Certainly not the best player of his generation. I assume he was talking about English players, but I wouldn't put him in the same category as Scholes, King, Gerrard, or even Owen.
Nah, he was better than those two.

Owen? Really? The only reason Owen got about 50% of those goals was that Beckham had an enreal ability to put the ball on his head on the 6 yard line!

I think you're re-imagining the past. Beckham could hit a good cross, and was one of the best in the world at set-pieces, but he was hardly responsible for anywhere near 50% of Owen's goals.

Owen was superb at international levels - not because of some mythical version of Beckham hitting perfect balls to him, but because he was a natural finisher. He also performed in International tournaments, unlike the likes of Rooney.

I can't stand Owen as a commentator, but for the best part of a decade he was one of the best strikers in the world.

I didn't say he wasn't. I was talking about the guy that says he has done nothing since he has stopped playing football, which isn't true. He does a lot of charity shit.

I agree with all of this, other than "probably the best of his generation". He was nowhere near.

No true football fan could hate Beckham imo. His passion and love for the game shone through every time he played, or spoke about football. Watch the last few minutes of his final game for PSG, he was crying his eyes out thinking about not playing again.

The only reason I could think for hating him would be pure jealousy, or being Greek
Fair point. I probably should have said, best Englishman of his generation.

Please explain?
don't want to upset anymore of my fellow spurs fan on this site who,
clearly love D Becks so much for some reason,

But are we led to believe that, these so called celebrities, actual care about
charities or is it just good for the brand.

Best of his generation , I don't think so !
Since leaving the game, what has he given back to it,
The marketing of Beckham make so many people deluded.

Beckham should take his millions and go sit down somewhere.
And deluded people should see him for what he is,
A marketing, media tool.

Nonsense. Haven't you seen the underwear ads?

No love at all and as I've said I have no interest in anything he has to say. Also a decent footballer but there are loads more I would watch before him, but I couldn't suggest he doesn't have a good heart and I'm slightly uncomfortable with your implication.
