Still hoofs too much when we need to keep it on the ground. Needs to get more crosses past the defender into the box. Allows too many crosses in from the right.

Great when we're in control of a game. A liability when we're up against similar level opposition.

I like him though.

BAE hails battery breakthrough

Does he ever rest?!

I don't think he hoofs the ball more than any other defender? Infact I would say he does it least out of most defenders in the league.

Oh and I do think Cole and Evra have been on a decline in the past few seasons, whereas Enrique, Ekotto and Baines have all been fantastic.

His long balls forward are also the most accurate of any of our defenders.

Oh and Cole and Evra are both getting old now. Decline happens. Both fantastic left backs, as much as I cannot stand A.Cole.

His long-range passing really is fantastic. Not just the accuracy, but the choice of passing. I remember in our opening game against Werder Bremen in the Champions League last season he was putting in some incredible (and inventive) passes to Bale.

A mate of mine who supports the gooners said to me that he's the only Spurs player he likes, purely because he's "just so fucking cool." I just replied that he's far more than that...he's also a great fooballer...but those last two words seemed to confuse and depress him.

The Bremen game was the one where he made that absolute howler and allowed them back into the game.

while yes the flick up and head back to friedal is cool, im sure it is technically illegal too, im sure there is something in the rules about doing exactly that, being in control of the football and flicking it up so you can head it legally back to the keeper.

still the coolest player in the league and my favourite!

Did anyone see that outrageous bit of skill/luck when he missed the ball with his head but got it with the back of his foot? Looked awesome from where I was but probably didn't mean it. Anyone got a clip?

This.
I`d love to think he meant to do it.
