Wonderful to have such a balanced intellect at the club - he treads a fine line but does it with grace.

He talks a lot of sense. However the alternative to ending up like Aston Villa is ending up like Leeds. Clearly he is talking from a player's perspective and no doubt we will have more problems with players wanting to leave in near future because Chelsea, City, Man U or even Paris St. Germain (who seem to be flush with cash) can offer more than double the amount of money.

That is why the stadium issue needs to be resolved so quickly. In the meantime Levy and Redknapp are doing a good job with limited resources as we have one of the best squads in the league. Definitely top 4.

While I have been critical of Redknapp regarding his tactics and team selection it is clear from the article that the camp is happy. Much credit must be given to 'Arry for making it so. I hope to god the club have resolved the stadium issue by the time he leaves, because in likelihood, the flood gates will open, and our best players will want to leave.

Obviously qualifying for CL is also crucial. The greatest credit must go to Levy, but Redknapp has certainly done great things for the club. Now please 'Arry, start playing Sandro and Parker no matter the game and please never play Pav and Defoe together again.

Yes, it is well written, but it's not exactly the greatest article in the world, mainly because he changes it's subject almost every paragraph.

But as always some interesting points from Benny. The more exposure his opinions get - especially to young footballers - the better.

I love listening to what he has to say. Always a nice insight to things.

I'm not saying he's having a dig at the club and the pay structure, more factual. The more success we have the more the player expects (and to some degree have earnt) the money other top teams will pay. Just shows once again how important it is to have the new stadium.

Fucking hell, he writes well!

 It'll be ghost-written. Basically they'll interview him and then a journalist will write it. He'll then take a read, say it's okay and publish. It's pretty standard procedure.

If you see Benny's Twitter, you'll realise his written English isn't great.

Still a proper lad though.

Levy is not going to like that article, but the rest of the players, and probably Harry will love it. "Show us the cash Danny boy if we get top 4."

Is it just me or the club (Donna, I am looking at you) shouldn't have allowed players to start their payrise negotiations in the press? If I were Levy I would have been massively pissed off.

Yep, this is the first real poor showing from Benny in the press IMO.

yes, he is frank and doesn't mince his words and that's what we love him for, but this looks like a thinly veiled dig at the club in order to extort money.

i'm not sure that BAE is attempting to extort money. if you or i are offered double our salary at another company we would definately look at or consider it, why should a footballer not do the same????. he merely points out that a footballer's head can be turned just as easily when a large pay rise is offered.

look at james milner, berbatov, joleon lescott, ashley cole to name but a few players who had their heads turned by extra cash.

Levy wouldn't be interested in the article in the slightest, it doesn't say anything new to him, it's just honesty with the fans and says the same as he has said before - players put money first.
