I liked Benny but the ‘quenelle’ affair was ill-advised

Oh Bennie - I did like you too - quite a character and very decent on his day - in fact on his day the best left back we've had for some year - but that "it's just a job" attitude became your downfall - trying hard for your job is not the same as having passion for your job - Ade is from the same mould. Give me a Kane and a Mason any day of the week. But Bennie - I wish you well.

his downfall was not that attitude, but rather an apparent support for an apparent anti-Semitic gesture.

He was good for a while, then lost his way... maybe once the 'fun' disappeared he lost interest. Very good at times, very rash at times. I wonder if he'll try to find a new club or just settle into a comfortable life away from football.

I agree a bit, but I must mention Danny Thomas, who was outstanding until injury cut him down.

DT was right sided. You can't be referring to Mitchell?! An English Atouba. Praps Teemazaani was the worst of all? Crikey, we've watched some shite. Clive Wilson wasn't too bad.

Justin Edinburgh. Taricco.

It was awful playing as spurs in any computer game in the 90's and early '00's. Lol

it was fking worse having an ST!

I went to a few games as a kid when Gross was manager. Watching Espen Baardsen struggle to keep our 1-0 win was like a cup final. Depressing how happy we were to win a match back then

I still remember the Gross-inspired home defeat to Sheff Wed one sunny August afternoon. I had the honour of taking a bloke who came all the way over from Singapore for his very first experience of the Lane. Like me, he was schooled on Hoddle, but unlike me he couldn't believe his eyes when we were three down after half an hour. So I took him down at HT for a depression relieving pint, then made him drink half a dozen in the half hour that followed. He couldn't hack it so I practically had to carry him back to Seven Sisters. Those were the days.

My mistake cliff, I thought Danny Thomas was left and Mitchell was right, but I was small then!

Let us not forget Pat van den Hawe, who was good.
