what a good comments by Darren Bent despite not playing to much for us

"But I need to bide my time. The front two are playing fantastically well at the moment. As a partnership, Berba and Keano have already got 40 goals between them. "It is always going to be difficult to dislodge them, but I know what I need to do and as long as I am part of a good team like Spurs I am happy. It was nice to get on and score a goal but the most important thing was the result."

I was against this signing, but reading something positive like this always good for him and for the whole team. I'm confident now over him to be good signing for us.

Bent deserves more love by us, taking the pressure off is good for him.

yep - it seemed that the crowd were supportive of him yesterday which is really good - and his 100th goal against the club he turned down - nice :) go Darren - score the winner on Wed now

Already starting to sound like JD! Had he not been injured though when we had games in the CC, FA and UEFA cup he would have got more starts and possibly goals. Hopefully the goal against the Spam gets his confidence and he can bang a few more in before the end of the season. I hope he gets another season to impress

what the hell was the point of any fan getting on his back anyway??

he is never going to be in top form if he dont get the chance to play regular

no denying the guy is a natural goalscorer and more than capable when called upon

yeah £16m was a lot but he will prove himself when he hits form

His goal will ease the pressure for sure and I'm happy for him, but I still think he was overpriced.

Good luck to the guy though, I can't see him staying past Summer, I think Ramos will have his own ideas!!

Bent is a quality player who will score you 18 goals a season. His pace is a real threat and he gets in behind defenders very well. If he had a regular run of games and the right service, he'd be well worth te 16mil

Forget about how much he cost, it's not our problem. But I'd still rather have him at Spurs than not.

Subtract the nearly £4m profit we made on Defoe and Mido and the fee becomes a much more realistic £11.5m anyway. And if we end up paying the add-on £1m it will be because he's scored a lot more goals.

It should be pointed out that he's now scored as many goals as Owen and one more than Kuyt, both of whom have had far more time on the pitch.

I never understood why people have had it in for Darren Bent anyway. This is a striker who scored 20+ goals in his first two years with a prem team and who was offered double the wages to go to West Ham who were also offering more money to Charlton than us. He held out against a lot of pressure in order to play for us for less wages and that's good enough for me, even if he was just an average player, which he isn't.
Now that he is back from injury and Defoe has gone he will get more games and then Darren Bent will score goals for us and be successfull.

All it takes is one twist of the knee for either of our front two and Darren will get a chance.

He's been unfortunate & we've been lucky to have had no injury worries for the front two.

i think people expect every player to be signed for a pittance (in footballing terms) like lennon, hudd or steed.

if saha was 12m a few years ago you can see why bent was 16m.

even arse paid out 8.5 for franny 'fox in the box' jeffers.

'fox in the box' or 'cat in the sack'

hope that phrase works in English, common norwegian expression for a total dud.
