The same as your gut feeling that he'll stay surely?

Well its not a gut feeling that he will stay, is it?
He is a spurs player, its only rumours that he will go.

Not sure how many times it will take for you to understand that.

Maybe the opinion that he'd stay is based on the fact that he hasn't gone. Yes, it is simple deduction but perfectly valid nonetheless. The opinion that he would go is based on ITK/papertalk/personal opinion, ie, hearsay (if you feel like making a popgroup joke here, stop it).

So the fact that he is currently a spurs player means that he will definitely stay does it? So its a fact that he's staying then? Good, what are we all worrying about? He's a spurs player now so he can't be bought by another club. Perhaps the rules have changed overnight!

Until I hear otherwise.

The differences between Gardner/Rocha/Robinson et al are obvious. Firstly, they are surplus to requirements. Some have been replaced and some hardly featured last season. Berbatov isn't surplus to requirements, he has not been replaced and he did feature last season. He was one of our best players, if not the best.

No one can say Berbatov wants to stay. No one can say Berbatov wants to leave. Therefore, to blindly assume either option is ignorant and baseless. That, for me, is Flatters' point. A goodbye video is wholly pathetic. Assuming he is gone is wholly ignorant. Believing the red top press is wholly pitiful.

I honestly think that most people here assume Berbatov will leave so that if he does, they will be less disappointed. Is that not a rather unhealthy mentality? Is it not akin to assuming a girl will say no if you ask her out because you believe, without any significant evidence, that she doesn't want to go out with you but is already seeing some filthy Manc?

I agree with most of what you say, but my belief that he will leave isn't to dampen my disappointment - i'll be gutted if he goes. But i support Spurs and we move on, and i'll continue to hand over my money for the ST that i'll never give up.

You are either not so clever, or your just being pedantic on purpose.
You clealy do not understand what we are trying to explain, or you are just trying to find ways to ask the same question with different wording.

Not at all mate. Im just simply batting back your statement. How can it NOT be a gut feeling that he'll stay? But saying it cant be a gut feeling suggest that he WILL be staying - on what do you base that?

Perhaps it's you that's not so clever. I can see what you are saying and accept that it is my opinion. But it isn't a FACT that he will stay at Spurs for next season, it's your opinion.....do you want me to go through that again for you?

But nobody said it was a fact he was staying for the season, just that he's still here, yet some are treating his departure as fact by saying their goodbyes. I'm saying goodbye too, to this thread :adios:

Dougal, look above. Shanks states that it cannot be a gut feeling for him to stay - so I ask why?

Your just being arguementative for the sake of it then.
No one has said its fact he is saying, they are saying its fact that he is a spurs player currently.

And until its announced that goodbyes, he's off, oh noes... are off for me.

No one has said its FACT that he will be at spurs next season, they have only said its FACT that he is currently a spurs player.

As I said earlier, not exactly a difficult theory.

Everyone, apart from you has got that dude.

Disagree Dude, I get it completely, but you on the other hand.....

again, i refer you to your very own comment that 'it cannot be gut feeling if he stays can it, cos he's a spurs player' comment.......doesn't make sense.

I'm sorry to start another thread about Berbatov, but I'm sick of most of SC more or less treating him as if he's already left us. He hasn't. He's still very much a Tottenham player. I've already been told by people on here to stop kidding myself and get over him... even though the only official and factual things we know are that he's still a Tottenham player, and apart from dodgy rumours from tabloid newspapers and ITKs, there's nothing to suggest he won't still be a Tottenham player next season and beyond.

How about we all just stop mourning the loss of someone who's still with us, and better yet to some of you stop insulting him and continue to support (if you ever did) one of the best players we've ever had and still have.

As they say... don't believe anything until it's on our official site (not Man Utd's ).

So true, so true!!

Berba is, and I really hope he will be, a Spurs player for a long time!! We need him.

Daily Rubbish Mail wrote today in it's article concerning Bentley that "Tottenham last night agreed a £17million deal for Blackburn midfielder David Bentley as Juande Ramos set about spending the £50m he hopes to generate from the sale of strikers Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane."

Selling both Berba and Keane!?!?! Do they (journalists) really believe on that kind of thing?!? How stupid would that be.

We won't sell Berba and we won't sell Keano. End of story!!

Oh dear.
That was in relation to your post.
You asked why it was a gut feeling that he was staying (to someone else), I was saying that it wasn't a gut feeling at all, it was just factual comment that he was currently a spurs player.

which has nothing to do with whether he stays or goes does it?

United have the same problem with Ronaldo. He's currently a United player, but could very possibly be leaving soon.
