Why are you comparing a Striker to a RM?
I think that our football is quite flexible, so there is no problem to put striker instead of RM, move one of our offensive midfilders closer right side and still be able to dominate on the pitch.

Not entirely sure that would work.

I don't think he's necessarily lazy, it's just his style of play. He didn't need to be 'running around a bit' as he has/had such an incredible football brain and touch. Hoddle was hardly 'road runner'.
But as some have said, he's made his bed. He s*** on us, refused to play and went on strike, so no, not welcome, no matter how good he was.
And we've moved on.

I'm not saying Berbatov would be the right guy now, but I don't like the notion that our team has to be packed with workhorses, there is room for the odd 'luxury' player too.

TBH he's the exact type of player we could do with right now...

His experience would be invaluable, as a bench player why not?
I don't think his experience would be valuable at all

His whole style directly conflicts with the ethics of Poch's system

He's also not exactly shown himself to have a perfect role model attitude

If anything I could see him causing more disruption and disharmony in the squad than doing good

He had below a 1 in 4 record in the Greek league. I think he's past it at this level.

He could bring in a load of duty free cigarettes for the lads from Greece, assuming he doesn't smoke them all on the plane over.

I'm not saying that we should sign him to be our main striker. Cause yes, that would be stupid. But wouldn't he be useful from time to time? I can see him scoring winning goal against Sunderland in 90min after coming from the bench. This could be new challenge for him..
Have we been that poor recently that we're hypothetically talking about signing Berbatov AND then relying on him scoring a 90th minute winner against Sunderpants.....
