Best Crosser of the ball

I was thinking about this and none of the players who I would expect to be our best crossers can do it consistently well. Bentley should be our best crosser but just hasn't got his mojo together yet. Lennon is much better than he was but is still hit and miss. Jenas delivers a decent free kick into the box (usually) but doesn't get into the positions to cross in open play. Bale is so low on confidence he isn't doing much of anything right at the moment.

All in all I reckon our best crosser is Assou Eckotto. The last few games he has played he has consistently delivered the ball into the box from a wide position when he has got forward. To take this further, if he continues to play like this then it is essential that we play someone on the left of midfield that can drop back to cover for him because Modric can't do it - he is needed centrally and his defensive abilities are lacking somewhat.

I'm interested in other people's views/candidates

BAE has got an excellent cross on him but we need him as defensive cover for our corners purely as he is very quick and could stop any counter attack!

I was actually hoping Ekotto would take inswinging corners and free-kicks on the right last night.

ekotto is definatly quality putting in crosses from the left
pre season bentley looked class , the season started but he didnt !!!
our set pieces have been poor this season
modric probably is our best set piece taker at the moment

Actually Robbie Keane can put some good crosses in from the left too - it's just a shame he's not waiting for them in the box ....

From seeing Jenas and Huddlestone hit tame free kick after tame free kick (and after Jenas got our hopes up with that goal against United), I though the addition of Bale and Bentley would finally add some quality to our set pieces. I'm still waiting to see it though. Like much to do with Spurs, the potential seems to be there but it isn't being realised on the pitch.

I felt that O'Hara was getting some decent corners over and could be dangerous from a cross but he seems to slip into the "can't beat the first man" mould at times.

I've seen Pav swing in some excellent crosses, unfortunately no one can put them in without him in the box! Yeah, BAE has delivered some good ones and Lennon has vastly improved this season.

BAE is the best crosser when the ball is moving. I'm not so sure if he's the best from set piece

Bale and Bentley are our best crossers. But gawd knows what is going on with that pair.

BAE is okayish, but one BEAUTY of a cross does not make him amazing at it.

our crossing is absolutely shit.

I think Dean Marney put in a better cross last night than I've seen all season from our players.

Benny's cross was good, but the header made it. A tremendously timed run and a jump 3-4 feet off the ground.

I didn't say he was amazing, just our best crosser at the moment. I do think he makes a good few crosses per game though, not just that one yesterday.

To be fair to Benny he hasp ut in some other decent crosses this year and i remember one quality one pre season vs norwich.
We have got good crossers in the squad but they just dont do deliver it often enough.

Bale is poor at crossing. Always has been. His crosses (and I'm taking about from his days at Southampton) have always been average and more lofted that anything.

Assou-Ekotto has been crossing brilliantly all season. His cross for Bent's 4th in the 5-1 pre-season win at Norwich really made me stand up and take more notice of his crossing, and he's been doing it throughout this season.

Bentley put in some fantastic crosses from deep in his Blackburn days, but hasn't done it in a Spurs shirt all that often.

I'll tell you what makes a huge difference, having players who actually attack the ball like Woodgate did last night. We don't do it enough. Attackers attacking a cross, are what make a good cross a good cross.
