Just saw this stat.

"Tottenham Hotspur currently have the lowest conceded goals to game ratio (0.55) across all of Europe's top five leagues this season."

(Next in the PL is Chelsea with 0.82)

Pretty impressive :joyful:

Don't want to rain on your parade, but aren't we about glory and panache?

Celebrating defensive records seems a bit desperate considering we are drawing far too many games.

Didn't take long did it? Sorry

Doesn't make it any less impressive though. Props to Poch for getting us so tough to break down.

This even with missing key players for stretches this season already. Toby, Lloris, Rose, Dier, Dembele all missed games this season.

I'm just a bit frustrated that's all. I keep hearing how we are defensively and it's a good thing, but it's the same story as last season and again our goal difference flatters us as we aren't scoring enough.

Whilst it's rightly to be acknowledged that we aren't scoring goals it's nice to know that it's not all doom and gloom and we have something to hold onto, don't see anything wrong with that.

Not sure that makes any sense. Or is a good goal difference only really good if it's more goals in either column?

It's a good goal difference if you're not drawing too many games. Which is exactly what we did last season too.

It's a reasonable point isn't it? The odd big win and lots of draws would make our goal difference look better than it is no? We could go unbeaten all season, still look good in terms of goals from occasional big wins yet do fuck all and end up 5th no? Which is why defensive records mean sweet fa if you don't achieve anything.

Because we've only played 11 matches, would you rather we had less points and better GD? We could lose more matches and have a good goal difference and still come 5th, would you like that? Basically I could think of 100 permutations that could happen at the end of the season but it's a bit pointless discussing it now isn't it?

Guess it depends if you're a glass half full, glass half empty person though...

I'm very positive about Spurs and we've come a long way. It's hardly pessimism to point out we aren't scoring enough goals is it? It's a fact, and one that appears to be carrying on from last season. I'm not obsessed with goal difference i was just making a point.

Crying tears of pride here. I never thought I'd see the day Spurs had a better defence than the mighty Nizza.
