Just found out that the player that dalmat smacked that terminated his contract at spurs was jamie o'hara! When he was 16!
And talking of ex spurs players o'hara allegedly gave michael brown a black eye in training a month ago!

oh and 'el hamdoui' is doing very well at AZ Alkmaar - helping them win the dutch league i believe. But dont think he ever played for spurs - just the reserves and out on loan at derby...
is pamarot still at pompey?? he could make the bench over atouba who is struggling with Jol at Ajax!

Hammy's doing well, but AZ are way off the pace this season—but then van Gaal went to Bayern and Koeman took over, so no surprise there. Toobs has made just the one appearance, in the defeat to PSV, and according to Deselina failed to impress.

Kanoute wasn't very good for us.

I disagree.

Not in terms of goals he wasn't, you're right. However, he was one of the main reasons Defoe scored all those goals in 04/05. So unselfish, bought people into play so well, and had the world famous 'velcro-chest' to bring down a long ball

If i recall correctly, the rumour was that Jol lost his faith in Kanoute after his attention lapse in the Carling Cup (quarters?) when he handballed in the box and we were knocked out. I remember being very disappointed that we sold him, and he's since proved what an excellent player he was.

Plus his long ranger against Everton at the Lane... man, I could watch that over and over again...

Dick Advocaat is their manager, dear.

I'm going to just use premiership players in mine, and none who chose to leave us, but instead we rejected them:

Robinson
Young Rocha Gardner Chimbonda
Brown
Murphy Reid
Malbranque............... Etherington
Bent
It has been weakened by both the fact that Edman left Wigan and we resigned Kaboul.

Considering our high turn over of players and the number of managers we've had who all had their own styles and preferences, the quality of player we've got rid of is pretty low. In recent years it is only really Kanoute that we rejected and shouldn't have.

A few players have gone on to do reasonably well and played for England eg Luke Young, Bent (Zamora). When I grew up, if a player got into the England team, he was generally good. But nowadays England players can be pretty average.

Jamie O Hara is an interesting potential one. If he'd stayed at Spurs this season, he wouldn't have played and wouldn't have improved. In a few years time, he may become a player we regret leaving but he would never get to that level sitting on our bench and until he improves he is not good enough to start. You'd think that the same scenario would apply to more youngsters.

Considering the number of players we've signed who were all destined to be the next "Add_Superstar_name_here", none of them managed it. In some ways thats good that we're not letting talent go but on the other hand it means we've been signing dross and overhyping them.

Keane headed it Eek

EDIT: Ah no. No he didn't, my bad. Awesome goal though, although I still prefer Erik Edman's Goal of the Millenium (Copyright Erik Edman, 2005)

If we start struggling we can put big Doherty up front.

Technically they all chose to leave us, they could have stayed and fought for their places. I am only saying this 'cos I'm bored.
