Shite...

Ian MacIntosh did a great job when he covered for Jimbo last season. Hope to hear more of him.

EDIT: MacIntosh is heading the new group apparently. I'll switch over to them then.

First the EFS is cancelled and now my favourite pod is broken up. I hate it when my favourite stuff is changed.

Just downloaded today's Football Weekly only to see that it will now be presented by Max Rushden permanently.

Whilst I don't think he deserves the stick he gets, he's nowhere near as good as AC Jimbo, so I suspect I will be switching allegiances fairly swiftly.

My only problem with Max Rushden is that he and Barry Glendenning together often get too banter-y and focused on stories instead of what they're actually supposed to be talking about. When he presents and Barry isn't on it he's usually good.

I like Jimbo and Rushden so I'll try and listen to both for a while. I find that Rusden lets his guests talk a bit more, while Jimbo tends to jump in quite a bit. Overall I prefer Jimbo though.

Just seen that the new podcast will be four times a week. That sounds like a lot to me. Are they shorter episodes?

Is that the first one this season? I've got my phone set-up to automatically download each episode, but I haven't seen anything come through since the confederations cup.

Yeah that was the first one.

I've listened to it. It's not as good, and the best bits were the not so sly digs at Jimbo and Ben, so once that's gone I think it's basically going to be Max and Barry's radio show but with a bit more football.

So what's the verdict here gents? Are listening to both, or have you picked a favourite yet?

The bitter digs at Jimbo and Co. from the Football Weekly team are spoiling their podcast IMO. Other than that I'm quite enjoying it with Max.

Football Weekly is good as well, but I'm not sure about some of the guests. I can't make up my mind about Kelly Cates, and the Spanish expert is no Sid Lowe.

More or less agree with you tbh. Lars Sivertsen used to both annoy amd amaze me when he was on Norwegian tv with the way he can talk non stop and doesn't seem to need to stop to breathe. Not surprised he ended up on FW tbh, pods suit him better.

Leroy Rosenior and the ex-goalie who's name escapes me are excellent edition to Jimbo's pod, but Sid Lowe is miles better than the Spaniard on TTFS.
