I always wondered, with his size/strength & technique making up for his lack of pace, if he'd have fitted in as a defensive midfielder, just clogging up the middle and breaking up attacks.

I think there's a few that i'd have kept for another year but not many i'd take back now. VDV staying would've been grand, but time has passed, he's lost half a yard of pace (and was never the quickest anyway), so even if he had stayed i expect we would've moved him in the last window, if not before.

Isn't it funny, so many players that slip your mind, yet when we signed them were supposed to be absolute mustard.

I have a good mate who is a ST holder at City and when we bought him said that some of Corluka's best games for City was when he played as a DM, he only did it a few games but fitted in well he said.
