Wasn’t a robbery by any stretch of the imagination. Boxing fans are just desperate to cry foul all the time. Could have easily been a draw and wouldn’t have been shocked with a GGG win, especially with him being the belt-holder. Canelo has some chin tbf, as does GGG.

Great fight, had GGG by a round or two. Very close.

Canelo is always going to get the decision in any close fight. He’s had some favourable scoring during his career, ever since he’s been lined up as the face of the sport.

I like him as a fighter but I hate that he’s roided to the max.

I can't stand watching fights with commentary as some are so biased. I watched it this morning with no sound and thought it was a draw. It was that close i wouldnt have been mad what way it went.

Commentary can cause half the controversy at times! John Rawlings was starting every round with Golovkin already pencilled in as winning it.
It was a close fight

Very common in meat products, especially beef from Mexico...I don't believe he's dirty tbh...although at the highest level, I'm unsure if anyone in any sport is totally 'clean'.

Yup its used in a lot of meat products to make the meat leaner. Although I doubt that is how it got into his system

Figure of speech on my part, my bad. I detest all forms of PED’s in boxing. I couldn’t give a toss about them being used in athletics or even football. Can’t abide them in combat sports though.

So many of them at it though imo, including our own golden boy heavyweight if I had to put money on it.
To be fair to him, of the current British top 3 heavyweights, Joshua is the only one not to have served a drugs ban! Unfortunately I think it’s rife

There's athletes that have been caught and athletes that haven't been caught yet.

Anyway Peds cant give you a chin. Canelo has chin made out of iron

He’s a tough hombre. Not that there was too much doubt regarding that anyway.

I like him, and love watching him fight, I just don’t like everything that surrounds him. He could have lost to Lara, yet had a ridiculous card go in his favour, had ridiculous favouritism in the scorecards against Mayweather where he lost virtually every single round and sneaked a draw when he should have lost the first fight with GGG. It’s not his fault so I don’t blame him. He’s clearly been the golden boy in the making for the sport and it’s going to take a lot to topple him.

I think tainted meat was genuinely how it got into his system, he also volunteered a hair follicle sample test which came back with negligible results to back that up.

Manny missed shedloads of testing and went up about 7 weight classes. I'm sure he wasn't clean. Canelo, not so much.

As for favouritism on cards, I honestly think that's not the case...its very rare that you see him come off worse in exchanges and flurries IMO.

Anyone else hoping Povetkin gives Joshua a wobble?

Easy win for Joshua tonight?

I think Povetkin is a good challenge. Can see Joshua winning on points.

I've Povetkin for the KO at 9/1, will probably do Joshua by Decision in another and a late rounds KO in other bets.

There's something about AJ that I just can't take to, I think he's overhyped and lacks humility...would love to see someone knock him on his arse.

Povetkin has heavy hands and is one of the best fighters that AJ's fought (he and Klitschko both well into their 30's btw), I'm hoping it's a good fight regardless.

As far as the GGG fight is concerned I thought he shaded it slightly.
I think now he knows that the only way he'll get the win in America is by knocking Canelo out.
It was a bloody good fight and cannot wait until the rematch.

Looking forward to AJ tonight as well...anyone know what time the ringwalk is likely to be? and what's the undercard like?

Joshua is going to knock him out without too much trouble, imo.

Price absolutely wobbled Povetkin, and whilst he is obviously a talented boxer and I love him - he’s not on the same planet as AJ. They’re all biding their time until Usyk comes up to heavyweight and bashes them all up anyway.
