Yes Yes we know you said so first.

But lets be honet you never gave the bloke a chance, so stop preteding you have.

You might know a lot about football and players and know a good one from a bad one before the rest of us but you know something I know when a someone has absolutely no class in the way he goes about making his point. I couldn't give a flying fuck about being a better fan or supporter and at £50K+ a week I doubt very much if Paulinho needs me to back him up on an internet forum and your probably right he more than likely doesn't give a shit about THFC. But when you don't rate a player god you fucking bore some of us with your endless snidey little remarks.
I had to do a double take when I checked who you were saying this to. Then I burst out laughing. I laughed so hard I did a small wee and a fart at the same time.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

This ref had not a patch on this guy:

Byron Moreno ~ the worst ref that i have ever seen in a world cup.

Very dodgy,.... Alves a lucky boy, Olic with close to a fair challenge, but that penalty?..... Reallllly.....

But if you want to see the real template for home advantage, then see Argentina 1978 - Junta and all ;)

Townsend on seeing the Alves trip said the olic was looking for it. Then after seeing it again and seeing clear contact said the ref couldn't have given it as it was "unintentional". I really detest that man. It's not a foul as it was unintentional, it shouldn't have been a red card as I "unintentionally" shattered that guys leg in 15 places with a two footed flying challenge.

See if he was clever enough to come up with a real excuse then fair one. He would still be wrong, but at least he was trying to break the decision down for us. Saying he didn't mean it so it would be unfair, is the shittist form of opinionated commentary there is. Specially with all the unintentional things Croatia got punished for over the 90 minutes.

Ok, I must be the only person that sees what Paulinho brings to the team then...

Thought he performed his role well tonight, and showed his intelligence in regards to movement towards the box and finding pockets of space...

However, best moment in the match has to go to Charlie asking/gesturing to the ref if he was gonna swap shirts with Neymar, as he was being substituted. Classic, especially as the refs goofy grin as he shook hands with Neymar must have been pretty riling.
Ha ha , missed that - nice one Charlie!

Overall the game just left a very bitter taste in ones mouth. I had been really looking forward to watching Brazil; all that talent playing in their own country - surely amazing things were going to happen. What actually happened was a lot of diving and cheating. Oh well :(

Only way Brazil will win the tournament is through dodgy officiating.
There were moments last night when Croatia had them on the ropes, and there are stronger teams out there that Brazil will end up facing.
There's a definite weakness with their full-back positions. Marcelo & Alves like to get forward, but the players in front of them don't do the job of tracking back/covering. Croatia knew that and that's how they scored both the first and the (incorrectly) disallowed goal. Just wish that we had the players on the flanks to do that job....

Little doubt in my mind that Croatia will progress into the next round as they will play differently against Mexico & Cameroon, giving Rakitic more freedom to run the game with Modric.

As for Neymar - from what I had seen before last night, specifically for Barca, I didn't rate him. There were flashes of quality last night though, but maybe that's because he is the focal attacking point for Brazil, whereas it's Messi for Barca.
Not convinced by the claims about his goal-scoring record either. Yes, 33 in 48 games is bloody good, but take a look at who a good chunk of those goals were against... Scotland, China, Japan, South Africa, Iraq, Panama.

This. Nothing new at all what we saw last night. Argentina's cheating and advantage in '78 was beyond comical.

All I can say about last night is that it was a shit game, ruined by a timid ref who got every major decision wrong in the hosts favour. Funny that. I haven't been particularly paying attention to the build up of this world cup; I think all the social upheaval that the organisation of the tournament has caused in the host nation is disgusting; I loathe the organisation who are running it; and to be fair the majority of the jumped up little shits playing in it are preening, self important narcissists.

This will be my 8th WC (being too young to remember '82). And while the World Cup has always been a heavily corporate and sponsored tournament; the levels of greed driven, self serving and flat out social irresponsibility of this and the SA World Cup has left me feeling nauseous of something that I used to get so excited about. International Football is no longer a game or spectator sport. It is now yet another means by which the old, greedy and affluent 1% can go into a desperately needy part of the world and hoover up as much of it's resources and wealth as it can find, no matter the amount of blood they leave in it's wake.

Enjoy the 'football'

I started the game supporting Brazil, but after the decisions I ended up supporting Croatia. I hope the rest of the group fuck over Brazil!

Brazil are treated like footballing gods by media who continually faune over them.

I truly believe the corruption in the game and especially the "Fifa" World cup if far greater than we can even imagine. Give me the Euros every time.

I bet Pletikosa has a nice new house after last nights 'performance'.

Brazil scored a patchy own goal to put Croatia ahead
They had more shots, more of the play and more shots on target
It's not the ref's fault if Croatia fail to score from good chances.
3-1 flattered them a bit but they deserved to winoverall
with or without the ref's help.
All those grappling offences should be punished.
Easy pen. for the ref to give the hosts.

You would have thought that a stronger ref would have been given this first game, at least someone with a bit of CL experience that could handle the pressure. It was obvious that as the game went on Brazil would be awarded a soft one, they was in his ear all night.

Things i noticed last night though was Corluka's anorexia, was he really that skinny when he was with us ? Marcello falling over every time the wind got up and Gustavo's brilliant moustache........

Don't think the keeper was bribed, he was just a bit crap.

Oscar's goal mind you was well taken, although a better keeper would have anticipated the shot and probably would have saved it.

"A bit crap" that was abject at best.

Sorry that was a bung every day of the week - I used to believe as you did, but nights like last night defy that. That was rotten to the core.

Shocking game.

Fifa just reeks of corruption, which is a shame, as this being the biggest competition in the world, last night was embarrassing.

Terrible referee.

Thought Croatia looked very strong to be honest, were on the front foot before the penalty decision.
