He answers questions, its called a press conference.

I'd have been delighted to have him.

Don't know what you guys have been sniffing.

I think he's got Harryitis. Competent manager who plays attacking footbal, marmite individual. I have an irrational dislike of him, and think he's a classless fuck. I thought the same about harry when he joined.

my bank manager says 'yes'

Absolutely right, I would jump at any job that gave me a couple of million pounds pay-off for being bloody awful.
Lets not forget the best thing about being a football manager...................no matter how many times you get the sack there is always another fool waiting in the wings to give you a another job.

When Levy was looking for someone to replace Harry,at the time there were 4 candidates in England.
Villas Boas,Moyes,Rodgers and Martinez....................Levy picked the runt of the litter.
How did we end up with him?

how did we end up with a guy that missed on CL football last season by one miserable point with a poor squad most of them weren't even "his players" and had us this season within easy reach of CL football, quarter finals of the LC, last 32 of Europa League......:wtf:

When asked how he now looked upon the possibility of joining Spurs, Redknapp told the Telegraph: “A close shave. They are a great club and one of the things I looked at was the history.

“They’d had 11 managers in 18 years there so for someone like myself, I needed to create something; I needed to go to a club that was going to give us that opportunity.

“It’s difficult…they have had a good couple of years, they were up there under Harry Redknapp.

“Obviously there have been difficulties from [Gareth] Bale leaving. There are many good players but very few who perform week in week out to that level.

“I am more than happy with the choice I made to come here and hopefully in time it will prove to be the right one.”

Wat?

You are living in wonderland if you seriously thought that we were moving upwards under our last manager.

LOL yeah we moved really upwards with the appointment of Tim Sherwood...a forward thinking young manager with a sound tactical knowledge and well regarded internationally with a view to attracting the best players out there in Europe.

Sometimes I think I live in some kind of twilight zone....since when are Spurs fans used to winning trophies and having spurs in top 4/5? By the looks of some comments it seems that we are used to constant glory..... the expectation is huge!

If he had joined us and done here what he seems to be doing at Liverpool, then he'd still have a job.

Shame, in a way.

He's right about spurs but Liverpool are no better under these owners. They've had three managers in the three years they've been there. They sacked one of them after he won them a trophy and got them to the FA Cup final. The only reason Rodgers is still in a job is because they've made clear progress under him. If they were still languishing in mid-table he'd have been sacked in the Summer.

No thanks. I'm glad we didnt get him.

Overrated. Will be out of a job within 2 years. Especially once Suarez leaves.

Still, he has a point regarding the amount of managers we have had. Not good enough really.

He didnt have the credentials to be Tottenham manager, let alone Liverpool manager.

Luis Suarez signs new long-term Liverpool deal

Without Suarez he, and LFC, would be f**k all. When Suarez goes, which he will when they fail to qualify for Europe yet again, he'll be booted into touch and be managing f***king Colchester within months (with all due respect to The U's).

Mind you, we have had too many frickin managers recently eh?

Can hardly blame him, he is spot on. He also at a club which keeps its best players - something we can only dream of

His quotes from today

BRENDAN RODGERS is relieved he ended up as manager of Liverpool and not Tottenham.

The former Swansea boss was in the mix to succeed Harry Redknapp but instead ended up at Liverpool, while Andre Villas-Boas took over at White Hart Lane.

And he believes the dismissal of the Portuguese this week is indicative of the short-termism which means he got the better end of the deal.

Asked how he felt about the situation now, he said: "A close shave. They are a great club and one of the things I looked at was the history.

"They'd had 11 managers in 18 years there, so for someone like myself, I needed to create something; I needed to go to a club that was going to give us that opportunity.

"It's difficult ... they have had a good couple of years, they were up there under Harry Redknapp.

"I am more than happy with the choice I made to come here and hopefully, in time, it will prove to be the right one."
