Some good things to build on but that front 3 worries me.

Vicario also has a bit of Gomes about him.

I think there fans tried to make him nervous but a part from the rushing out with about ten minutes left I thought he did well and took ownership of everything he did.

We are so spent in the last 15 minutes. Would have preferred Ange to use Lo Celso and Solomon.

Kulu is disappointing. Not sure is he even fully fit. He looks less dynamic than last season when he just broke into scene. The injury he suffered kinda broke him since then. Would love to see Solomon more TBH. He's so much quicker.

Richy never really showed his presence. He's always so despondent when his shot didn't come off, is really frustrating not just for himself but also for the rest. I really wouldn't mind see Scarlett or Veliz for some game time as well if Ange wanna keep the only forward on top. If not Son should partner him upfront. Son on the wings is so limited... Why waste him on the wings..

I'm really disappointed in Deki. So much sideways and backwards from him. Solomon should have come on instead of him.

Biss was phenomenal, although I do think he could have tracked back a little better for their second. But that goes for Skipp as well and really Royal didn’t cover himself in glory ether. But on the whole Royal grew into the game well.

On the other hand I was pretty unimpressed with our front line. All three of Kulu, Richy and Son were anonymous and ineffectual.

All together a lot to be encouraged by. I do worry when we come up against better opponents tho, I feel like we might let in a lot goals this season.

Game petered out - as much down to Brentford's extreme defensiveness as our lack of penetration. I wonder what Ange will say to to the lads.

But I was expecting an entertaining loss and we got a draw and were the better side. So all good.

Bissouma is top drawer but my MOTM was Emerson Royal who had as many touches as Biss, a goal, and a was impassable in the second half in an absolutely superb defensive display across the entire back line. And some clowns were calling for him to be sold earlier in the thread.

VDV slotted straight in. Very impressed. Well done. And Sanchez did not do a thing wrong and a lot good.

Rome wasn’t built in a day, but that performance was certainly a step in right direction. Though Bissouma and Udogie were excellent, Madders did well. Vicario and VdV a little shakey, but not really a shock in middle of a new defence.
We need to create clear cut chances, Brentford sat deep and we never really unlocked their defence

I think we need to move the ball a bit quicker especially in transition, but encouraging signs.

Yeah gree, to have Bissouma a bit higher up and get a player like Douglas Luiz to dictate could make this team something special.
