I’d like to see Dane on the bench at least but looks like he might not be involved much. Really disappointed with Richy, you would think with Kane gone he’s got nothing in his way to become the main man but it’s early days so got to hope he finds another gear.

Slow start expected.
Our pre-season wasn't ideal. Most of the squad only got 2 games max in pre season.
That saying that's a positive point to take.

Don't expect the team to fully click until October at least

We had all 11 players in their half for large periods of play and more than 1 player in their area when attacking, some throw ins went forward, we had double digit shots, more passes than the opposition, more possession and more importantly I didn’t dread the second half. Wow I can’t wait for next Saturday

It pretty much went how I expected. Trying to play on the front foot but not much cohesion and still a couple of square pegs in round holes.

It's not necessarily what you say that makes you sound like a **** but the way you say it.

Calling any Spurs player a "joke" is pretty shite but a guy playing his 1st game for the shirt? Have a word mate
Well I'd rather be a harsh but realistic ****, rather than a wanky patronising **** who thinks being positive is inexhaustible. Its not.

I never said sell him or drop him. Maybe there's potential there, but so far he concerns me a lot.

We'll see. Obviously I wish I'm wrong and he's great. I saw him throughout pre season and wasn't impressed and he was worse today.

Front 3 still playing like last season. Everybody else was good

I wonder if it'll be one of those seasons where the old guard get usurped by some young upstarts like Scarlett and to an extent Solomon

Son looked lost out there, Kulusevski was better but not by much.

Wingers definitely the weakness, Peresic over Son for me.

Bissouma, Udogie, VDV, Maddison and Davinson all good. Everyone else par.

Lots of positives against a very organised Brentford team.
Yeah, I feel that Kulu and particularly Son look a little lost in this system, son barely involved. Might be because Brentford defended very well. Good result considering how well Brentford do at home.

Lots of positives and lots of worries too.

Bissouma was fantastic, VDV & Udogie look like good signings too, very good debuts from both.

Maddison was great, we all knew that. Will be our key man.

Skipp in my opinion is useless, a far inferior player to PEH. He’s the one we should be looking to offload.

The keeper looks poor, unfortunately.

Front 3 were awful. Richarlison is useless and we all know it.

Kulu & Son poor 1-1 which is a problem.

Poor subs I thought. Lo Celso & Solomon should have been on after 60 mins.

Sanchez & Emerson were solid.
Do we really need words like poor, useless and awful?

Hear me out..

Son right, Kulu left. That way they're not cutting inside onto their strongest foot all the time and should take the full back on.
Far too sensible to use players on their natural side. Has that concept become so old school that it's actually considered radical?

I agree btw.

Son is an option up front for sure, but I don't think he'd have done better in there today. Brentford's three centre backs would have bullied him all game.

First game in a faster, more competitive league.
Loses his CB partner early on
Looks totally unruffled and makes some excellent tackles

VdV is the biggest positive for me. He could be amazing.

Many positives early days, add 2-3 signings to this group and give it some time we will be very strong.

VDV, Udogie, Maddison, Bissouma all class today.

So how do we sort this front 3 out? The wingers aren’t going to cut it in this system, I can see that right now and Richy has to have a ticking clock on how long he can look totally ineffective. We can’t sit with our thumbs up our arse and hope it comes good. All common sense tells you that it’s not going to. We need at least one winger that can beat a fullback without getting pegged back 5 yards later and a proper striker
