I liked Mido. I thought he did a good job. The only problem with Mido was his lack of personal discipline. Jol told him that if he lost weight, he'd sign him. He lost weight, we signed him. Then he put on the weight back on. Shame.

Seem to remember that I was taken to task when I suggested that, with Mido & Kanoute, we DIDN'T have a 'World Class' attack....

I was watching the 2005 season review and just thought to myself why not re-sign Mido! With Berba and Keano looking likely to leave I think he would be a cheap replacement! Hope neither player leaves though Keane has been so consistent for nearly 3 years now.

What??? :eek:mg:

You have just admitted in one single 'threadline' that you have no concept of the beautiful game called football.

Read my lippis Capocrimini; Mido = a wastio of spacio signorio.

After being linked with Villa, Arshavin, Milito, would it not be a major kick in the bollocks if we then signed someone like Mido??!

We're not Newcastle.

Although i don't think he is the same player anymore, i do feel Spurs fans should show some respect.

one could argue he may still have remained a spurs' player and been a star, had he shown some self-respect.

he spent large portions of his time at spurs on edgware road, smoking sheesha, eating shwarma's and drinking green tea.

You've got to be a WUM, surely? This can't be a serious suggestion. I'd rather we re-signed Gary 'Ginger Pele' Doherty.

its obvious that he would not be a good signing for us, but as many said, he was a major reason for our success in 05/06-it got to a point (i think around Christmas time that tear) that we were often winning two nil or just scoring two goals per game and mido would get you a goal and an assist without fail.

Unfortunately he has no real motivation for the game which is a shame because he has ability (for example his debut vs pompey) but to sign him back now would be utter madness-i would have rather signed Dave Kitson if we were looking for a player in that mould

...he did have a cracking season!

Cracking the weighing scales.

Rumour has it that the groundsman wouldn't allow him on the pitch during mid-week as his lawn mower didn't have the power to cut the grass going up hill.

Mido should never return to the lane unless he loses weight and regains the form he showed during the first half of the lasagne season. Mido was very annonymous for most of the second season we reached 5th but he still had a major impact.

That season Jol dropped the inconsistent berbatov for Mido in a cup match away to fulham. Mido set up two goals for robbie, we won the match, berbatov got the kick up the backside for the remainder of the season, we had a great run and finished 5th.

Some of the comments on here makes Mido sound like one of the worst players to grace the Spurs shirt but i have seen far worse players than him since 1991.

true, there have been worse, thereve also been better and there has also been more than a couple of guys who are/were so far beyond him in ability that its offensive to place them in the same sentence, amongst those is the person he has been touted at the start of this thread as a potential replacement for.

i never rated him when he played for us and i was watching him every week and having been treated to berba's talents for the last 2 years i have absolutely no desire to see him model the xxxl shirts again. if mido is the best we can do to replace berba we may as well give up now!
