yes another hutton thread - do I care no :) when we've got one of the best right backs in Britain, perhaps Europe, why stint on the praise :) George hasn't

“Alan going forward is one of the finest full backs in Europe and when he strides forward nobody catches him,” said Burley.
“Playing in The Premiership against quality players will make him even better too.”

I remain convinced that had Hutton been available, we'd still be in the UEFA now

I think so too, we looked disjointed and not at all confident when Chimbonda returned to RB, it was almost like a mental negativity set in

we haven't even seen the best of Hutton at the lane yet....

No where near. And yet, he's still been a big improvement. That's what I like most about the whole situation. A lot of the people praising him won't have necessary seen much of him pre-Spurs. If they think he's great now, wait until he's fully settled and up to pace

anyone see the bit when some Croatian player slid in late on him? love it when Hutton goes all angry Scotsman and intimidates the guy who tried to tackle him haha. the great thing is he seems to be able to fully leg it up and down all day on the right without looking out of breath. looks promising!

One of the things I'm most looking forward to next season is Hutton and Bale bombing down the wings.

hutton woodgate king bale

thats one hell of a back 4! Andy Gray did say he thought Hutton would end up being the best signing of the jan window!

You really have a bee in your bonnet about Chimbonda dont you. He may not be my favourite player either but a bit of credit where its due. Penalty aside (which he should not have taken anyway) he was one of our better players against PSV 2nd leg before we got knocked out.

I dont think Hutton would have made a difference when we lost the tie because of the first leg where Berb et al played crap.

Dont think so somehow. Reason? Although he may be a good cover I honestly dont see Bale as LB. Tackling is the weakest part of his game. I see him playing LM and being brilliant with it, making it easier for whoever will be playing at LB.

Bale wont end up as our left back. He would be perfect for our left midfield. To the people who keep saying in bold HE'S NOT A LEFT MIDFIELDER obviously haven't seen this lad play that much.
Hutton Woodgate King ........
For me that last place needs filling.

my favorite Hutton moments...

1) the cross for Bent in the West Ham game. Quality.
2) the way he tackled Drogba out by the corner flag in the 4-4 draw. he kicked Drogba out of the field while still taking the ball.
3) uhmm, out of things here, oh, when he signed!

I'd have to add to those another - when Niko Kranjčar clattered him the other day, and he got up, looking utterly pumped and fucked off, and (in his Glasgow accent) called him a 'focking preck' :-D

Yeah. I remember I had fun watching that bit. Hutton doesn't take any shit.

He really doesn't, which is bloody refreshing to watch.

The bit I enjoyed most about the moment in question was that about 30 seconds later, whilst obviously still in the zone from his little encounter with Kranjčar, he picked up the ball quite deep, and proceeded to dance past a number of Pompy players (proper 'old skool' Hutton), driving into their area before settling for a corner. It certainly got me going too :)
