The 'new manager bounce' is just a tactical decision that is part and parcel of football now.

I’m surprised too but a new manager might just be enough to save them.

If you look at Burnley's transfer spending over the last few years you can see the real reason that they're in trouble. Maybe that's a consequence of covid and the lack of crowds, but it's very harsh to put the blame on Dyche.

Seems a bit daft to sack him without an immediate replacement lined up. They need wins and they need them fast. Fair enough if they don’t think that Dyche is the guy to get them (though I disagree) but if they want a new manager bounce they need a new manager, not the u21 coach or whatever.

Terrible decision he has done wonders at that club giving thebudget he gets they would been in championship permanatly without him the past decade. While I dont think hes world class manager i would love to see him get a chance at a bigger club like everton/leeds/ maybe a Lc is rodgers leaves. or a arsenal if they get tired of arteta. he paid his dues at burnley he deserves a mid table club job atleast 2 or 3 years to see what he can do.

Perhaps...but i'm more inclined to think it's another case of shady ownership somehow passing the fit & proper test:

Burnley forums the consensus is they want Nuno/Benitez/Klinsmann/Bielsa.

That would be a weird move. I mean, getting rid of Dyche was already a weird move but potentially hiring Nuno and expecting him to galvanize the squad and avoid relegation is full-on idiotic. Wonder what Allardyce is doing?

EDIT: Truly hope Burnley go down though and we swoop in for McNeil

Ludicrous decision, thought he did well with the resources he had to work with.

Let's be fair, they've still got a chance of avoiding relegation. A time when unity is required, that decide to opt for chaos. Strange.

Ben Mee taking charge?!?!?!?

OK saw that on twitter, and its a little misleading:

“Under-23s coach Mike Jackson, assisted by Academy Director Paul Jenkins, Under-23s goalkeeping coach Connor King and Club Captain Ben Mee have been asked to take charge of the team for Sunday’s game with West Ham United.

Exactly. There is no manager bounce if there isn't one coming in! What a farcical decision to give him the chop that hastily.

Initially I think everyone would agree it’s a bad decision and a terrible way of treating Dyche.

However the owners will feel vindicated if they stay up.
