David Button has been recalled from his loan at Shrewsbury Town.
The 21-year-old goalkeeper has enjoyed a successful spell at New Meadow since joining last November, establishing himself as first choice and going on to keep nine clean sheets in 26 appearances.
David made his first-team debut as a substitute in our Carling Cup win at Doncaster Rovers in August.

Bit of bluffing here maybe......? Get Man City thinking about putting our keeper under pressure then all of a sudden Gomes is fit )

Or it could actually be what it appears, Gomes is injured. Having said that haven't Shrewsbury just sacked their manager? Perhaps the new manager didn't like him?

Shrewsbury Town release Dave Button and Jamie Cureton

Cureton joined Shrewsbury from Norwich in February

Shrewsbury Town have released loan pair Dave Button and Jamie Cureton back to parent clubs Tottenham and Norwich.
Button, 21, impressed in goal after signing from Spurs, and kept first-choice keeper Chris Neal out the side.
"Dave Button's a fantastic pro and is fine with it," caretaker boss Stuart Delaney told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"Jamie is very experienced, but understands I want to give young Tom Bradshaw the best chance to progress his career."
Delaney added: "Button's been first class, I can't fault him a bit. He's worked really hard with Chris Neal and [goalkeeping coach] Dave Timmins.
"He's done ever so well all season, and I'm sure he's going to have a great career in the game."
Striker Cureton, 34, was brought in late in the season from newly promoted Norwich to add to the Shrews attack, but failed to find the net in his time at the Prostar Stadium.
But Delaney, who replaced boss Paul Simpson to oversee Town's final two games of the season, has kept on-loan Huddersfield full-back Joe Skarz.

I very much doubt even if Gomes was injured we'd feel the need to re-call a 21-year-old keeper who's never played a second of PL football, back for back-up with only 2 games left. We're trying to get City to feel complacent hours before kick-off, thinking that we're missing our best players.

Didnt play at the weekend so not surprised, I think they have missed out on the playoffs so makes sense from their point of view.

Nothing to do with Gomes. (Hopefully)

My in-law is a massive Shrewsbury Town fan and I've been to a few games this season msyelf - Button has been pretty fantastic for them. One penalty save earlier in the season had us both shouting 'Come on You Spurs' which was nice.

Not saying he'll get a game or anything tonight, but always nice to see our loanees doing well, even if it's in League 2.

The new Shrewsbury manager has sent on loan players back to their parent clubs to give players he can use next season some game time. I dont think much more can be read into it.
