It's one of the funny things about football. It was only a few seasons ago that many United fans were saying Ronaldo would never make it: he's a greedy one trick pony with no end product etc...
With a bit of hard work, he's now arguably the best player in the world. People say Tottenham fans are fickle. What, I think, they mean to say, is that football fans are fickle.
It's also funny how the same things that were said about Ronaldo are the same things being said about a few of our youngsters. I hope they (especially the likes of Taarabt and Rose) were paying attention and took on board how much work Cristiano obviously put in, off the pitch.
Unfortunately, it looks like Lennon already thinks he's the balls and is perfectly satisfied with ending up as a Championship winger, when a few seasons of boozing and lethargy catch up with him. Hopefully, Juande and Gus will kick him in the head over the summer and sort the lad out...

Adel Taraabt - sounds more like a planet in Star Wars than a future superstar who needs extensive time out on loan before he should even be let near the first team. He's got enthusiasm and he's nippy but he's got no awareness of his team mates or the opposition, his passing is at best poor, at worst catastrophic. His movement off the ball appears to be pretty random and he appears to have a real high-opinion of himself.
His technique may excite the omgwtf teenagers but what use is a player whos only real memorable style involves "The Million Stepovers to Nowheeeeeere!!" (said like the PIIIIIIIIIIGS IIIIIIIIIIIIIN SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE! theme)
