PSG and Man City have found out that there aren't really any loopholes. And lets be honest, we will have to spend a massive wedge in a short amount of time to get to title challenger level.

That would be running before we can walk. We're maybe 3-4 good players away from finishing in the top 4. We need to achieve that first before even thinking that the title is within the realms of possibility. If we can secure champions league football, with or without new investors, the money from that will help us tremendously.

We wouldn't need to spend a wedge to get the title right away, plus that wouldn't be possible. First order of business would be spend enough to get into the top 4 which is entirely possible without spending Man City style money. Then becomes a gradual process of investing in the right players etc to push for the title.

Man Utd actually bring in the 2nd most revenue of any football club in the world. They stated they wouldn't be breaking FFP rules even if they had bought one player for a world record fee. So I think they are alright.

Man City broke the rules and were sanctioned.
ManU also is not subject to FFP this season.

I'm sure ManCity will take the sanctions in exchange for the league trophy

With the amount of money Abromovich has lavished on the team I would say that is about par. Where as we actually overachieved by finishing about Chelsea.
That isn't par, yes we overachieved by finishing above them in the league but they won two trophies and we won nothing, our coach is expected to mix it up with Chelsea and the rest on a shoestring budget, so there shouldn't be any bitching about how much they spent and in fact Liverpool I think won the league cup that year and qualifed for the Europa cup, so had a better season than us as well.

Lol. So many doom mongers on here.

Let's hope its true. Sick of baldy and baldini.

And as for FPP. Its very, very simple. Naming rights for the new stadium and a new sponsorship deal.

Simples.

You seem to be the only one who expects us to mix it up with Chelsea and the rest. Most realistic fans understand they are above our level and it will be hard to compete until we increase revenues through a bigger stadium.

Liverpool are a bigger club than us in every way possible, so I really don't understand your point.

No Levy is the one who expects that, that's why he expected Jol and others to get CL football on a shoestring budget.

No.
Levy expected Jol to get champions league football on a shoestring budget with Carrick and Jenas in midfield.
So if Levy doesn't appreciate that our ability to compete financially has some bearing, why the hell should I?

It's not entirely his fault, coaches, players take the responsibility too. Levy appoints the coach thus takes blame as well as credit.

Then either he should get the hell out or stop placing unrealistic expectations on coaches

I am measuring Levy by his own standards which he sets out for coaches, he expected to Jol to get 4th on a shoestring budget after he had taken us from 9th to 5th which was our best finish in the premiership.
For Jol there wasn't any sob story/excuses, it was a text at half time from his nephew telling him he doesn't have a job any more.

jesus dude, lighten up...you are one of the most depressing people on this board at times

I think there is a difference between aiming high and expecting. I don't think any manager has left specifically because they haven't got us CL football.

The last thing we need is another investment company.

Don't shoot the messenger, the truth is depressing but it's not me that is responsible for one trophy and one CL qualification in 14 years, it's not my fault Everton over took us last season, I'm just giving the facts.

Done some digging for this.

So lets say this is all above board and negotiations are taking place, like mentioned in the thread previously CH and ENIC met to discuss how they could assist with the build of the stadium correct?

Let's go waaaaay back some decades, the very first investment/business that the Guggenheim family ran was the 'Cain Hoy' stables and they were in the horse racing industry.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cain_Hoy_Stable

So the name Cain Hoy has direct correlation to Guggenheim and seemingly, appear to be a stand alone company set up with the purpose of funding/purchasing our club. On the 11th of this month we set up a relationship with Rothschild in relation to the stadium build.

http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/new-stadium-development-clarification-110914/

Now funny that we appointed Rothschild because if you go back and look into the Guggenheim family tree then you will notice that Cora Guggenheim married, no other than the founder of LF Rothschild, Louis F. Rothschild.

Figure 11 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guggenheim_family.

Now it might be merely coincidental details between all of these factors but surely there is a link between us and all parties?

Can't see this being anything other than a PR stunt to launch their new business.
But large investment firms generally don't need/do much PR -- except when they are under investigation for something, in which case it's called "crisis management."

Jol was expected by Levy to get CL football after getting 5th, when he didn't they started looking at Ramos in the summer and gave some excuse about Jol having an interview at newcastle.
