If we could have one of Wilson, Brooks or Ake, who do you take?

Ake for me.

This is horrible. Right-footed Ake wouldn't be linked with any top6 clubs.

Eduorad from Celtic is a good shout.

From the relegated teams a list of players to consider.
Brooks Bournemouth
Sarr. could be a bloody good right back imo Watford
T Deeney Watford Norwich
Ake Bournemouth
J King Bournemouth
Jamal Lewis Norwich
Ramsdale Bournemouth
Cant believe you haven't got Cantwell on the list, would be an excellent pick up.

Think I read Buendia is Leeds-bound. Makes sense given the Bielsa connection being Argentinian. But yeah, I’m surprised we haven’t seen any links to a Buendia/Fraser type player? A squad player who’s a creative passer and wins with passing and technical skills rather than our largely physicality-based attackers at the moment.

It’s a bit mad that relegated sides undoubtedly have better creative midfield options than us. Genuinely would prefer Buendia as an option to Lamela, Sissoko, and even Dele on current form if we’re facing a low block and need a goal. Bergwijn is good but he’s a winger and doesn’t help the team’s undeniable fear in the 40-yards-in central space where attacks are built. Only Lamela and Lo Celso seem to want the ball there, and that’s just not good enough.

I would also take Fraser if he's not already agreed terms with a club?
Even though he's a fairly classic winger his results speak for themselves. Always seems to put up goals and assists against the lower teams and it's that kind of specialist that I think we could use. A bit of a flat track bully, but as a squad option for those types of games would be very good.

Doesn't help the backup striker issue though - Other than freeing up Son or god forbid Lucas to play as a striker.

I would not buy anyone from Bournemouth except Josh King ...
Ake is the one from Bournemouth. I have 3 mates that are Bournemouth fans and go along to a fair few games. They rave about him. Calling him the rolls Royce of their team, whilst admitting his is way too good for them.

they think a move to city would be brilliant business for city.

therefore based on their glowing reference and from what I see on tv and read about him, I’m sold and think if we have the money and looking for a cb, he should be the one.

Can’t see why some people are turning their noses up at this possibility. He could easily start 20+ games a season for us;

The second sentence answers your first. It's the thought of him playing 20+ games per season for us that has people turning their noses up at the possibility.

But if we signed him, he most likely wouldn't play that often and Son would be chosen, ahead of him, upfront. We'd be no better off than we were with Llorente, in that we'd have a back up striker that isn't even first choice when Kane is injured. It's as if people have seen us not improve when we bought our previous back ups and decided that is the done thing, the Tottenham way! You are meant to get better when you sign players! Jansen and Llorente weren't meant to be last choice options. They were bought to sometimes start with Kane, to be cover when Kane was injured or to come off the bench and be a real goal threat. The fact they weren't doesn't mean that we should be another player of that ilk.

There seems to be an prevailing opinion that any back up striker has to be average or he wouldn't join us, due to lack of playing time, rather than the considering that perhaps our previous back ups didn't play much because they weren't very good. Does anyone seriously believe that if for some reason we ended up with Aguero that he and Kane wouldn't play together most of time?

If we get a good back up striker he will play a lot and we will be better for it. Hence I imagine it's a priority position and Wilson is just media speculation.

Maybe, but I don’t think we’re spending anything close to what is needed for a priority position. I’d imagine Holjberg (probably misspelt, but I’m entertaining a very tired seven year old at the moment and can’t be arsed to check) will be the big signing in terms of cost, and the much needed second striker will likely be more opportunistic. I also don’t think we should assume Son will be first choice striker if Kane isn’t playing- I’d imagine Mourinho would want Son and a centre forward on at the same time, especially now we’re clearly developing a counterattacking style

Wouldn't be surprised to see us go for Josh King rather than Wilson. With them relegated and him in the last year of his contract, I can see all over it as an option to cover Kane.

I‘d take Ake 100%.

Much as we need another striker you can’t pass up on a young centre back of his quality with a left foot.

Shame Man City are gonna gobble him up... :-(

im going to keep banging the drum for buendia... I really think he’d be an excellent addition.
