Hammers defender Calum Davenport is in hospital following a stabbing incident at home in Bedford.

The club has released a statement on their website at whufc.com confirming that both the defender and his mother were admitted to hospital last night.

The 26-year-old underwent surgery this morning; no further details are being released at present.
