In the end a bit of a walkover for Calzaghe. The fight should have been stopped much earlier, Jones face was a mess. Calzaghe can call it a day now, 46-0, although I have a feeling he will be thinking about Hopkins II in the millenium stadium.

Good win for Calzaghe.

The Jones Jr of 10 years ago probably would have been a different story, though.

Definitely. I'm a big Calzaghe fan and I'm pleased he won but the Jones of the 90's and early 00's is one of the all time greats (prob one of my fav fighters too) and probably beats Calzaghe. To be fair to Calzaghe though it's not his fault this fight has happend so late in his career, he has wanted the blockbuster fights like Hopkins and Jones Jr for some time. I'm just pleased he's finally got them.

This was a good fight. Jones and Calzagi are both great fighters. Would love to have seen these two go at it 5 years ago.

But boxing is shit now compared the 70's and 80's. So rare you see a really good tear up these days.

God I'm getting old....
