Can someone please explain Why Tim Sherwood is so hated?

I for one am very optimistic at Tim Sherwood taking over for a few games at least. it'd be very interesting to see how the team adapts, how the morale will be boosted - especially of our poor defenders, now that they're playing comfortably deep and normal as they are used to, and it'd be interesting to see how our forwards fare on the goal front - in fact, after the turgid, retrogressive and monolithic affair which was AVB's 2013 tenure it'd be very interesting to see the changes manifest in our play during a game - and West Ham who beat us 3 nil is the perfect place.

Now Tim Sherwood is ex Spurs player and current staff member and part of the Club - BUT I see so much negative reaction to him, people saying he's a snake, hating him, swearing at him...why? Why is he hated?
And shouldn't he be given a chance? Will attitudes change if we stuff West Ham and Saints?

this is what Rob posted earlier, doesn't answer your question much

He's a snide **** who's undermined AVB and got himself in tight with Levy despite never accomplishing anything.

And I reckon he'll be our manager until the summer :-(

I can't disagree with Rob's assessment and many people will have just as valid reasons. For me, however, it goes back to the advice my mother gave me on her deathbed.

'Never trust a man who looks like a shaved werewolf' she said.

Seen as Harrys man by some who dislike Harry. Disliked by some on the organization, hence some negative ITKs every now and then. Could actually be rather ruthless as some stories suggest, not neccesarily bad thing for manager.

However as for Tim not rating AVBs approach, well he was bloody right there, wasn't he?

How did he undermine AVB?
AVB shagged himself by performances such as

I'm not being funny but how does anybody on here know that Sherwood's a snide **** and has been undermining AVB?

To do that he would have to be saying something in private to Levy or Baldini and I'm sure they haven't been breaking his trust by going round telling people, that would make zero sense! On the other hand there's an ITK slamming AVB for his arrogance and the way he treats the staff etc!

I think the OP is a great question, for the life of me I can't see what Sherwood had done apart from play pretty poorly for us to be on the end of a lot of negativity!

My main worry would be how little coaching experience he has. I know he's taken control of the U-21's a few times but that's shared with Ramsey, and apart from that he seems like more of an advisor than a coach.

I could be completely wrong, of course, as I have no inside knowledge.

He just comes across like a phoney, grasping and intolerably over-familiar human male, whose agenda is as self serving as a virus'. Is my subjective reaction to a few videos of him. Probably he's a lovely bloke

That's a very unlike-Rob thing to say. I thought this site was 'close' to the official site. I always had Rob down as one of Levy's elves, spreading the wonder of Spurs to all the non believers.

Timmy must've bummed Rob as he slept. I'm here for you man, I'm here for you.

I don't know why he's hated but a trusted source told me he can't whisper properly so upsets everyone at his local cinema regularly, especially if the film's a little confusing and he has to ask Steffen what's going on. And he's been known to raise his little finger when drinking blackcurrant fruit shoots. And he types 'here here' instead of 'hear hear'. ****.

Who cares. He is our manager for the time being and we have to back him and the team.

By all accounts our U21s were playing pretty good stuff under him, he knows the in and outs of the club and knows the players, he was quick to say he was uneasy with AVB's tactics...Yes he's never managed a real team before but he has his chance now, has grinded through some roles, and who knows. If it goes bad we'll have a real manager in a week or two, if he's a success then we'll all be cheering.

Just back the team, because these players are more than capable of success.

I understand he made a comment about the team being unhappy to Richard "Smash it" Keyes, but so what? That hardly lead to the massive defeats and shit performances.
And Sherwood isn't alone, he has Ferdinand with him.

I say support him, let's hope we stuff West Ham, and if Sherwood is a snide and arrogant and self serving, let us hope he manages to serve himself by WINNING and ARSE KICKING! I think such an attitude may do us a favour..

How is his style? Anyone have any video's of the U21's with Tim in charge recently?

as the saying goes, nice guys finish last

The good thing is that he will know the players and should know how to get the best out of the players.

Chris Ramsey is the one more involved and last season, it was more fun watching the U21's then the first team

He's always been a Redknapp man so i do give credence to reports he fell out with AVB.

Wiki says he's in business with Jaimie R.

He did say some rubbish about arsen*l while /after playing for us which attracted a lot of hate, can't remember what he said though, sorry.

I dont really get the Sherwood hate either.
Imo this is the direction we should be going as a club - developing and promoting our own coaches so there is a consistent and stable backroom who will hopefully bring the youth into the first team.
Basically what Ajax do, so instead of keep taking their players (and maybe manager) lets just do it ourselves.
