Shit atmosphere at the game from start to finish, booing at half time and full time whistles. Im embarrassed to have been a part of that today.
Can the glory hunting fans fuck off now so we can get back to having an intimidating stadium to come to?! Cheers

Apparently...if you pay your money not only can you destroy the confidence of the team on a whim, but you have a right to so and probably should.

I always thought their was a close connection between the noun supporter and the verb to support - but, hey, these gramer fings is bluddy complicated, man

I thought the atmosphere was getting worse but today and WBA game were new lows imo but we have being booing for about year when we havent been winning so this did happen under Harry as well

Its a shame as the stadium would be rocking from start to finish about 10 years ago, this is the first time I've actually felt uncomfortable being there.

I'd almost forgotten that we had an atmosphere that was the envy of much of the country. Dear God, what has happened?

I'm not a regular at WHL even though I do make it to anywhere between 3 and 5 games per year, so I probably shouldn't criticise the faithful.. But it really makes me cringe when the atmosphere is like that. I don't think the home crowd should ever be booing their team, but if we were 2-3-4 goals down at half time I could sort of understand why some would.

But booing and jeering at every mistake even when the scores are level is really low. The atmosphere from WHL watching the game on the telly made me cringe.

Just for clarification, I always try to sing and cheer for the full 90 whenever I'm at the Lane. The only booing I'm doing is at the ref or the opposition though.

The most unbelievably diabolical fact of it all is that the atmosphere at WHL was better in the 90's when we were about as average to shit as a big team can be. A sniff of success, expectations are raised, some can't handle the wait. Such a pity because fans used to be jealous of us. Our away support is still amazing on the whole, but our home support ranges from great on big matches to embarrassing when we really need the support, like today.

Utterly shocking support today. I think i'll be sticking to away games for the rest of the season, thoroughly embarrassed to be a Spurs supporter.

I went to my first away games in the 90's. Rarely won, had some great bloody days.

The atmosphere did stink... But I guess give it a few games... People are having to come to terms with what's happened over the past few months. Even if a lot people on here are optimistic about the new regime. A lot believe we've taken giant strides backwards so yeah, not being terribly up for it is understandable really. Not to mention the Chelsea CL final fiasco. Give it time.

The thing is it seems to me that the club themselves are almost distancing themselves from those of us that were there in those days. Whether they like to admit it or not actions like selling half price memberships for the AC Milan game and removing loyalty points from before 3 seasons ago will have an effect on the support they receive.

Sometimes I feel like Charlie in the Chocolate Factory. All the other kids are complete ****s and I hope Willy Wonka finishes them off so I can enjoy my chocolate in peace. Like Homer in Chocolate Land.

Wow, Pretty sad when a manager of 3 games is asking for more patience from the fans :(

And also to start booing a new signing after 1 and a bit games, is disgusting, worse than anything in the 90's

We can single handedly derail this "project", maybe that's what these boo boys are trying to achieve:confused:
But sadly there is no guaranteeing a replacement will have any more success...

I've yet to hear a valid reason for booing the team and/or players. All we ever hear is "i've paid good money." Well yes you did, and lots of people pay good money to raise their kids, so would they start abusing them if they didn't perform as expected...

I hate spelling it out but booing damages; Performance, confidence, morale (of all parties) makes players try the simple things so as not to incur the wrath of the "fans" with a stray pass. And also the affiliation the players have with the fans and potential signings (you think if Moutinho was at that match he'd be thinking "this is a crowd i want to play for"?

I'm sure we've all seen people fall apart in normal work when a critical boss is looking over their shoulder or watching them work, well imagine this 10000 fold...

The fans were an embarrassment yesterday, if you cant back your team three games in you are a nob.

Booing and coin throwing! It's just not on, Spurs "supporters".

You're just lowering yourselves to the worst kind of football crowds and we have a reputation to honour, however frustrated or upset you are.

The name of Tottenham Hotspur is worthy of honour, and no matter how our team is performing your performance was far worse if you sank to that level.

This makes me sad :(

Which new signing got booed yesterday? It was bad enough when it happened to Jenas last week!

None of the boo-boys has actually come up with a counter-argument to what was raised in the recent thread on this:

Two arguments: "I paid for my ticket" and "They need to be told"

Argument 1: Just because one pays for something doesn't mean that one can use it in any way they wish. The example I used was done by Russell Howard - I have the right to buy a black cloak and a scythe and dance around outside an old age people's home, but I don't do it.

Argument 2: It's been proven by experiment that the effect of behavioural punishment is temporary, ineffective and leads to negative side-effects. It's damaging and does no good.

Funnily enough, there weren't any more stupid posts attempting to justify booing after that.

I'm not ashamed to be a Spurs fan at the moment, to be honest. Why should I feel ashamed of myself? I've dont nothing wrong. I think it's wrong that those of us who actually have the sense and the loyalty to get behind the team should feel ashamed because of those who don't know the meaning of the word 'support'. Don't feel ashamed of yourselves, feel proud. Proud that your loyalty is manifest.

However, I am angry. Angry because the lunatics are ruining it for the rest of us. Angry because we have to constantly fight off negativity, which distracts us giving the club what it needs - support. But no, not only do they damage the club and it's reputation, but they also cause even more support to be drained away.

They're the ones who should be ashamed. Not us.

I think Verts got booed on an occasion, but it seemed to me like it was just out of frustration that we were giving the ball away as a team and he was the latest one. Not that I'm sticking up for the boos!
I thought he had a decent game actually and should be immense once he gets completely up to speed in the premiership.
