Was watching the match on TV between Man U and Everton and the match commentator said that Man U has offered 40million Euros for Modric as replacement for Scholes.
Anybody else heard this?
Is this just rumours or have they bid or preparing a bid?
It has been rumoured for some time.
If he leaves, i would rather abroad.
Currently, his heart is not in Spurs IMO

I personally don't want to lose another to united. But he needs to go if he doesn't want to stay

I don't mind taking the 40 million but they can keep their canal and football commentator.

I'll get my coat.

So about £20m short of what we turned down last summer (£45m + Kalou)?

Think he'll end up at City because they'll pay £50m cash (or £45m + Ade), rather than try and chuck in crap makeweights.

Pie in the sky figures there - wasn't it cash plus Kalou to make it circa £40million last summer?

In any case, we need to resolve the situation as quick and as painless as possible which granted will be a lot easier said than done.

Where is that 45m plus kalou info from? As far as I'm aware the highest offer was 40m...

Will city see Modric as being worth so much more than players like Silva and Aguero? I wouldn't be so sure.

He can go to City for 50million...That should help us to rebuild - starting with the goalies and defenders...and finally s striker(s)

How many Tony Hibberts and Phil Nevilles could Moyes possibly buy though?

I'm not sure we have a choice. The squad needs a fairly significant overhaul to freshen things up along with the new manager. Giving the new guy £40-50 million in addition to whatever we have in the bank would allow us to address a lot of our shortcomings on the team.

Yes, Modric is a hell of a player, and losing him would be a shame. But we just seem to need so much strengthening and balancing of our squad, plus the fact he seems to want to leave, I think it would be tempting fate hold on to him. Given our financial status it makes sense to sell high and reinvest in cheaper players. We'll just need a manager who rotates and develops players to be successful with that approach.

I would snap sell Modric to ANYONE for £40million.

Lovely player no doubt, but he's nowhere near worth that much.
